How to fracture and break moving object upon impact using initial velocity?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to use dynamics to "throw" a rock at an object and have the rock fracture and break upon impact using voronoi fracture, [kind of like the first shot in this simulation](https://old.reddit.com/r/Simulated/comments/g8c9xy/please_give_the_old_box_full_of_tools_gently_to_me/). I turned on 'On Collision' in the dynamics tab of the rock object and also set an initial velocity, but it doesn't move at all and I'm not sure why? If I set it to 'Immediately' it just breaks before impact and isn't what I want.

Every tutorial I've seen on this topic for C4D involved a static object being broken by a moving object, or an object that falls and breaks only via gravity. I want mine to have an initial velocity and only want it to break upon impact.

Could someone help me please?

[These are my settings for the rock object](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/341428957985636355/784995855278276638/unknown.png)

I'll appreciate any help I can get

Hmm, not sure a Voronoi needs the On Collision for what you are doing (not that I can see because the link is broken like Cerbera points out). Is this what you want to do, have a object (here it's a sphere) smash against something? If so, it's really very simple, have a look at this file. If it's something else - do what Cerbera told you to do, otherwise it's a bit of a waste of time.
