Resizing backplate in dome light

Recommended Posts

Hi, all. I'm wondering if there is a way to resize the backplate in the dome light from inside C4D. When I load an image of a sky into the backplate, the image is too large. I'd like to scale it down so that the clouds are smaller, but can't figure out how to do that within C4D. Is it even possible? The camera will be panning around, so I'd like the sky to rotate with it.

Thanks!

Marc

An HDRI (or Dome Light in Redshift) is an infinitely large sphere around the scene. Naturally, you can't scale that, or pan through it.

Can it be rotated to match the scene?

I think the simple way is to create huge sphere or hemisphere, cylinder and shade it separately.

In my example via the Redshift object I can control if it participate or not to the reflections, GI ...

Here I chose to just be visible to the camera and the Dome light texture is lighting and reflecting.
