Bone lengths keep changing when imported fbx from 3DS

Working on a project where I imported an fbx converted from 3DS Max. It contains an animated biped dance sequence but it keeps warping like crazy from halfway up the spine and up the chain through the arms. I've highlighted a single arm bone to show the length attribute in video link below. I can't find this attribute in the f-curve anywhere. If anyone has any leads on how to fix this or explain what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.


FYI, this is the famous Ooga Chaka baby from ancient times.
