SInewave deform of extruded, flat shapes?

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'd like to have multiple shapes that have a wave/sinewave deformation move along one of their edges. Ideally the other sides would remain static, but if not, no worries. These objects would basically be extruded boxes with very little Z depth. See attached image. I assume this is fairly easy, I'm just not sure how to accomplish it. Thanks very much!

You could put it all together in the spline mask I would imagine, then extrude the result. Weather or not animating the movement of a curved / wavelike spline across the top would work Im not sure, if not I guess some sort of formulae might do it.

Bit of experimentation with spline its / type may be in order, this one only working in linear but I started with a formulae made editable, may work better with a hand drawn bezier. Example below.
