Why is my render appearing different to the one in my viewport?

Hi, I have a scene with an emitter and a metaball creating a kind of 'oozy' orb around my main subject. I have paused on a specific frame that I think looks great in the viewport but when I go to do a final render, the emitter/metaball looks completely different to what it does in my viewport. I have made sure that the metaball editor and render subdivisions are the same (as seen in photos). I have tried baking dynamics which also just removes some of the orbs completely. Any suggestions would be amazing as im close to giving up on this project and admitting defeat.

P.S. My rendered frame also matches the frame selected in my viewport :).

Well, your settings look right, and having just checked that metaballs do render in the PV using the native renderers (they do) I can only assume this must be a problem with Metaballs and Octane, possibly related to their parametric nature ? I presume your particle settings numbers are also identical in both VP and render ?

You could try putting the MB inside a connect object, or remesher (also seriously improves the topology) or making it editable (if that is an option animation-wise).

Might be worth uploading the scene file to see if we can replicate.

Cerbera, you are an absolute lifesaver! I took your advice and made the metaball editable. This instantly rendered out correctly.

Thank you so much!
