These are so nice Igor 🙂
Looking forward to see more things!

PS: Not sure you are into character animation.. but is it good in Houdini?
I saw so little things about it.. and only one short film using it for character animation.

Thanks man, much appreciated.

Regarding animation. At the moment SideFX is revamping its animation system and its called KiniFX. Right now its most useful for retargeting but with the next release will be interesting what did they do with it as they say they want to make it much more useful and animation friendly. I did try making simple rig and I think it cannot be more simpler.

In this stream you are mostly using Rigpose and Capturelayerpaint nodes. Whats nice is that you can make any kind of change on the object and rig will update. Will be interesting how SideFX will tackle this.

That is super cool! The node system seemed a bit "scary" to me at first, but now, more and more I see how awesome it is
I am scared to try Houdini and get even more divided in between 3d softwares haha!
A very close friend of mine just switched to Houdini, and the visuals and cloth simulations he shares with me... it is simply brilliant!

Trust me when I say there is nothing to fear of. Houdini is only different thats all. No programming is needed for any of these things at this point. SideFX working a lot on developing nodes which diminish a need of using Vex. You only need to understand few Houdini concepts and once you do, sky and your hardware are limits. 😄

I knew Substance Painter can do justice with painting, but little did I knew it can do the same with rendering. Was playing around with its rendering and this is what I got for today, not to bad ey. :cowboypistol:

Looks amazing! And ready for movie/game production too!
Houdini looks really amazing.
@Igor How do you feel about the difference of speed modeling on C4D and Houdini?
Like, what it takes on C4D takes less on Houdini to make.
Or, if it takes more time, it's better because of the procedural options and easy to adjust.

Houdini is a beast and great when using it as a hybrid between procedural modelling and direct modelling. Its logic its its own and its very much different from any other DCC. If you are interested you can check this video which I did for one of the developers on SideFX forum explaining benefits of proportional beveling. Regardless of not being A tutorial you can still see how I approach to modelling of a simple barrel asset, at least one part of it. I’ll probably record a whole tutorial on how to do it in Houdini from start to finish. https://we.tl/t-DGboKsYxRe

Alsonthat Mjolnir is fully procedural, ill record a video so you can see what that asset is capable of, its not just a hammer, it can transform.

Just watched. The interface is minimalist and i like. I really like the fact you rarely go around the software for other menus and stayed in the middle with middle click/right click to create and adjust. Houdini It feels robust and fast. Will try it out in the future.

@quadsdamage this is how proceduralism looks like. I just started with this mini project, but it already looks very promising. There will be some tehnical challanges but lets see how it ends and where (Ill show you the Mjolnir later).

That's really amazing!

What impresses me it is the power to control the model with ease and change the aspect without much hassle. Knowing Houdini and doing big projects must be incredible and great to come back to old files.
