Looking for "cheap" laptop that can run C4D R25

Recommended Posts

Get one with a RTX 3060 at least if you think using a GPU render engine like Redshift.

Edit: note that laptop RTX cards came with several TDP power levels. Get those with 115-130w. There are several Lenovos with that power level, but you need to verify the TDP.

Edit2: note that the laptop 3060 is with 6Gb Vram considered below required 8gb Vram for Redshift. It apparently still works.

loot at your own local computer companies. there is clevo is china company that sells own designs as brands. in russia there is DNS computer. in turkey, monster notebook, in europa as i know there is eurocom. all of this companies and similar ones in different countries uses lisenced clevo computers and rebranding by own company. so possibly in your country you can find some of them. in general terms they are cheap and offers better price/performance than bigger brands like asus.

so you can check them fore better prices.

also check gtx 1650 card notebooks. they are aroun 500-600 dollars. if more cheap you want try to find out used notebooks in localtown. put them cinebench and other benchmark softs and test it. if works and look s clear than buy for low price.

cheapes variant of all al this will be used notebook that have gtx 1060 or 1070. better will be 1650 or even better more modern with 3060. so look around for local brands or in own town used notebooks.

Cheap is relative... could you specify a price range and maybe some minimum requirements?

I was going for "cheapest possible for minimum requirements on GPU" but anything between 700-900 € will do.

For that bufget you will have to go for a GTX 1650 or 1660 Ti. I would really go for the 1660Ti, Acer Nitro might be a good candidate.

Laptops with 1650ti are only marginally cheaper, but much slower.

Below 800€ would have to be a special offer, or even with a worse GPU.

For around 1000€ you could get a good XMG from last year with an RTX 2060:

Personally I would try to get these extra bucks and go for this one.

Good luck,

Chris

than look for notebook with 3050 or 3060 if possible. at least rtx 30xx more recent and of course have rt support. 1650 cards not have rtx support so there 3050 will better than 1650 because of rtx support.

for example:

Well, a 3050 sits between the 1650Ti and the 1660Ti concerning speed and has only 4GB. It is much slower then an RTX 2060, which would also have 6GB Ram. The 3050 Ti only improves speed a bit, but still is behind the 1660Ti:

Of course, the 16xx do not have raytracing so it depends on the renderer used if a 30xx makes more sense even if it is slower, but I have a feeling raytracing on the 3060 won't be fun either.

I would prefer the 2060 over the 3050 or 3050Ti in any case. You get better rasterization performance, but still have raytracing support, and it would fit the price range.Another possible buy:

XMG Apex with RTX 2060 Refresh, 897€, with good upgrading options

The 3060 is of course better than the 2060, but I doubt you will get a laptop with an RTX 3060 in the specified price range.

I haven't seen anything like that yet, but yes, this would be great.

They are in Idealo link you posted. restrict search for RTX 3060.

Note the caveat i made before about TDP in Nvidia cards.
