I can't understand what's the deal with Forger ...

Is it that much better to sculpt using your fingers on a tablet ?

I don't own a tablet or iPad but i can't get my head around the thought that Forger got to be so successful and so powerful as to showcase some very nice artworks...

What's your opinion ?

Would your workflow be better with a stylus ?

How close does it compare to other sculpting applications ?

No one would use their fingers to use Forger (or at least they wouldn't use it successfully). Forger (and Nomad Sculpt, the other major iPad sculpting app) work best with the Apple pencil, so that you have pressure sensitive sculpting.

This is no different than using ZBrush with a Cintiq: a directly interactive sculpting process for (especially) organic models (e.g. character and creature designs).

The disadvantage of using an iPad for this is that Forger and nomad don't come with the full feature set of something like ZBrush. But there is also a huge advantage: comfortable, mobile , performant sculpting on a tablet with a long battery life and which doesn't get hot. The work can always be elaborated/refined on a computer later.

It depends upon your needs whether this makes it useful for you.
