C4D hair to UE5 with attributes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to get my C4D hair in Unreal 5.4. I generate splines with my hair generate into spines. Then I export to Alembic and import that into Unreal. I can then use it and change thickness etc, but when I import it with the groom Import options the status file is Valid but the attributes are empty so I cannot use any surface colour or root to tip colorchanges etc.

I found a tutorial for Blender and was able to use that to have my C4D hairs with attributes into UE5

([New]  Animal Fur Groom for UnrealEngine 5). It is a rather complicated and has a lot of steps and was wondering if there is a way to to this right form C4D. I am using R2024 and Redshift latest.  Any clues?
