  1. Although I don't post much these days I check in several times a week. Yeah I watched the Neutron preview and it looks awesome. Had MAXON released this while I was still using C4D I would likely still be here. In my opinion Neutron is a lot further along in development than what they may have hinted at. They've been working on it for many years. They were certainly working on it when I was a Beta tester but we were never shown anything. Hope you are all doing well. Life is good here in New Zealand with no Covid-19 and the only cases being people caught at the border. New Zealander's returning home all have to go into managed isolation / quarantine. Those of us that still have a job are all back at work and life is pretty much back to normal. Yeah still riding my bike a lot, still using Modo and modelled a number of big Lego models when we were in Lockdown 2 months ago. Modo's core is being upgraded like C4D's. Development isn't as fast as what people would like but they are making progress. Stay safe everyone 🙂 Nigel / 3DKiwi

  3. Hi All! Noob here in Mahoning, Pa. Not new to forums (gear-head) but new to this one . . . VERY new to C4D which is awesome and frustrating trying to learn. I am an environmental designer working in the Broadcast, Corporate Theater and Exhibit / Trade Show industries for the past 30 years. Since this Covid craziness, our industry sounds more or less like crickets. So - working on a virtual platform where we can create virtual meetings - not much different than what we were doing before. Vectorworks / Renderworks were my programs of choice - I milked Renderworks for all it was worth for too many years before just switching to C4D. I can still build in VW if needed and it exports with little issues to C4D - major bonus as I am learning - they are very different programs. C4D is SO much more robust and stable - super-happy so far and I have just scratched the surface. That being said, I am going to hit you all hard with newbie questions as I am trying to be as proficient as possible in short order. I have many lighting, camera and fly-through questions - mostly basic stuff. Try to have patience with me . . . Thanks! Dan

  4. LOL! That's right...some form of fruit. A cross between a 3D-Banana and a 3D-Strawberry!

  5. Funny that everyone complains that MAXON doesn't hint at what they're working on. Now that they have shown some of the future, now it's "why can't I have it now?" Just make great stuff with what you have now and look forward to the future.

  6. I wonder if it has more in common with Modo's tool pipe? I know we have a few modo users on the forum so hopefully they catch the video and can chime in. I know that there is at least one modo user on this forum, but he rarely visits us anymore so I have forgotten his name. Lost weight. Grew a beard. Rides his bike a lot. Good at photography. Loves modeling with leggo's. Grew up with Oscar winners.....hmmm.....Nope. I got nothing. 😉 Dave

  7. R22 will be announced at IBC in September. MAXON confirmed that R22 will include all S22 features+new stuff so let's wait... I fully agree. This reflectance channel is a mess and the 3 different built-in render engines (!!!) are confusing.

  8. Latest Comments, my latest rant ! What can I say, I still believe the cafe has suffered with the lack of latest comments section. This had already suffered when that section was cut down to just about 6 or 8 recent comments and now there is none. Im not just wishing for old times or against change but for me the comments went hand in hand with the questions and outlined the ongoing story of that particular issue, often with comments popping up days weeks or months later. You can also see who's contributing, or at least you could with the original system. If it is a matter of space, then for my money you could drop the plug in development panel which barely changes from day to day anyway, and how often does a person need to check on plug in development ? Maybe its just me being a non / semi pro user. Downloads and video panels don't change much either, I could live without both of those. Its nice to see peoples work tho so I would keep that. Currently the only way to keep up with things seems to be to view all activities which means trawling thru lots of other stuff. Cafe is all about the conversation and back and forth of the problems and subjects, but we are only really seeing one side of things at the mo. The Questions and latest comments together create something greater than the two parts and for me are the most important / interesting things here and yet one doesn't even have a home at all unless Ive missed it. Latest comments on another page would be better than nothing, posting times on those were useful too, as opposed to time of original post as it seemed to be recently. I think Ive got that off my chest for now. Deck As always I am appreciative of all the hard work you admin guys do, just having issues with this issue 🙂

  9. That's great and the selling point of C4D. I don't get the node fixation. Reason why I like Modo and C4D is that it's more artist friendly. But it's a cool project, reminds me of Softimage ICE. But with Blender growing a lot around here and Autodesk confirming the Indie license at $250 for next month, C4D will have a hard battle to fight for users around here.

  10. Not to belabor the point....but....err...as I look at it....Neutrino man and Srek look like they could even be related. Heck...they are even looking at each other. ....just saying. Dave

  11. This was specifically so that my 4D Paint painting and texturing tools work correctly in S22. These have just been released for free for everyone from R20 to S22.118.

  12. I think Hrvoje´s scene is done like he said. Applied 2 materials. One for whole object (moextrusions only) and another one for selection (created with correction deformer) But in his example single materials is applied on all extrusions, not one color for this, another for this etc... moextrude_polygon_shader_attempt_0001.zip
