  1. I had to do this myself recently. The SDK docs are pretty good but miss out one or two crucial steps. I wrote the procedure down as I knew I'd need to do it again (and would never remember it) and you can find it on my website at https://microbion.co.uk/html/createplugins_r23_3_notarize.htm. For sure, this can be automated but it helps to understand the process and the only way to do that is to do it (at least once) from scratch.

  2. Based on the story "Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You My Lad" by H.R. James. I started this while ago and just have not have the spirit, time or energy to get very far with it. Now the script is written - I've really boiled the story down to the bare bones and these are the first 3 storyboards to make me think I've made progress. So much more to do, there will be an ancient shipwreck washed up to shore, a small hut/house at the edge of the beach and I hope some interesting effects for me to try. I want to make the main, and only character, into a woman and like my last film there will be no spoken dialogue... but there will be written dialogue.

  3. Hi guys. I want to get a feel for the needs of the community regarding training? It would also be helpful to know what version of software your using now? Thanks, Dan

  4. The main issue for any shop is visibility and profile. If you want to sell more plugins, then the shop needs to be a one-stop site where you get everything, where you get the newest, the best, all that you need. This shop needs to be on the forefront of your mind whenever you think "oh I would need an additional functionality, wonder if there's a plugin for that?" It must be so well known that you visit it at least once a week just to see what's new. Then, MAYBE, it would have a chance. If the available plugins for C4D are generously spread over Gumroad, Patreon, Kickstarter, personal sites, some third party webshops, and a few obscure homepages that have been abandoned long ago (but the plugins are still good) - then you don't have the needed impact. Naturally, it's pretty much impossible to get all developers under one umbrella (esp. since there are tax & regulation issues). I guess the first step would be to make a permanent curated list of plugins: what they do, where to get, maybe a few extras like compatibility or ratings. Add new stuff every so often, and then advertise the hell out of it (there are so many users out there that this forum doesn't reach - sadly, I have no idea how to push such a hub to everybody's attention). So far, the best I have seen is the occasional post with a plugin list, which soon sinks into the darkness of old posts 🐯 (Come to think about it, where is the info "how to sell on Core4D"? I am too stupid today to find it...)

  5. Hard to tell without the scene file that demonstrates the issue. Please can you upload it ? CBR

  6. you need to scale the elbow/knee controllers and advanced bend controls in local z (object mode, don‘t use model mode to scale anything in a rig)) to get the tangents for the bends, then you rotate for the angle... don‘t unlock the positions for the advanced bend controls , there‘s a reason i‘ve locked them 😉 i recommend watching the tutorials to save you trouble like this.

  7. Apologies for not having looked at the most recent SDK documentation before starting this thread. As I am mainly working with R20 I have the R20 SDK documentation installed locally. Didn't think to check the latest online docs regarding macOS development. So sorry! I now see it is quite documented what to do. The yearly cost is a showstopper for me if I want to provide my plugins free of charge. Yet another reason to throw the towel. No need for apologies. It was right of you to point it out, for current and future readers to know the deal. It isn't always Maxon who's to blame 😉

  8. All the devs at Core4D here are all great. Check out their work in the developer forums here (which is pretty much totally hidden from the site now unless you hunt for it). https://www.core4d.com/ipb/forums/forum/345-programming/ But let’s get back to R25! Very keen to hear what you would all like to see or expect to see…

  9. I'll speak as a customer of both. Kbar has deep history both as a trusted Maxon dev and as an independent plugin developer. While @Maxon he created the sculpting system. Other modules have his fingerprints. Dast, as he states, is more of a casual developer, but cleverly addressed longstanding holes in c4d's UV system.

  10. One more panel of progress. I have to design a shock or small home on the shoreline and I'm not getting a clear idea of what that should be. I do think this ancient boat washed ashore after the storm will work at least. I am LONG from getting this to animation stage. :(
