  1. A side note: acording to the homepage there is some nice tech in Forger (SDS cage reconstruction from subdivided meshes, quad dominant remeshing) that hopefully makes it into C4D soon.

  2. I can't understand what's the deal with Forger ... Is it that much better to sculpt using your fingers on a tablet ? I don't own a tablet or iPad but i can't get my head around the thought that Forger got to be so successful and so powerful as to showcase some very nice artworks... What's your opinion ? Would your workflow be better with a stylus ? How close does it compare to other sculpting applications ?

Doing work around motion designer for 3 Years. Mainly work with C4D and AE. I playing c4d for 3 years but just found this community few day ago, That make me so exciting. I hope I will learn a lot form this community. Thank you 😄

  4. Agreed. And in case Insydium did not need any more motivation, there is Reactions (TFD V2) in beta which is also GPU based (though not sure real time like Embergen). The big detractor to Embergen is that it is standalone which means importing cameras and objects and exporting VDB channels for rendering in Octane in the host DCC application. That is a bit cumbersome....kind of like working with Lightwave's modeler program and having to always jump back and forth between it and the layout program. In short, bi-modal workflows are not always the most efficient. If Insydium was GPU based and totally integrated with Redshift, then that would be huge for C4D. Honestly, Maxon should buy Insydium and then unleash the Redshift GPU programming wizards on XP to speed up the development of a GPU version. Having a native GPU based multi-physics fluid/cloth/grains/smoke/fire/dynamic particle system within C4D capable of scaling to massive particle counts plugs a huge number of holes in C4D's toolset. It not only strengthens C4D but kills any desire for anyone to consider working with Embergen. And considering that Embergen requires Octane, removing the need to use Octane for Embergen because everything exists natively in C4D helps also helps Redshift. Dave

  5. Just as a side note in case anybody didn't know. An older EmberGenFX 0.5.6 is free for Octane users as well as World Creator. Downloadable from otoy.com. I have Octane, but I haven't tried the freebies out yet.

  9. Hey guys, A bit of a dumb question, maybe: I made this glass cake-stand object using the Volume Builder procedure. I see that the Mesh Builder has given me a Vertex Map which it calls a Curvature Map. (see yellow arrow in screencap) What exactly is this Curvature Map, and can I use it to add increased realism to the render of this object? Is a Curvature Map especially related to the Volume Building procedure? Is a Curvature Map a trick that only advanced 3D practitioners make use of? If the subject is too big to be discussed here, can you kindly point me to a tutorial/explanation online somewhere? Thanks, ras

  10. This kind of magic ! I did that in Physical and with inverse AO and levr masking, but the light brown wear and tear is exactly the sort of thing you get witch a curvature map used as a mask. CBR

  11. Vizn, That did the trick, the objects showed up in UE4. Unfortunately the animation does not play, but this is heading in the right direction. Thanks again

  12. Hi Everyone I'm really anoyed with these missing icons. I have a fully custom interface that is strongly icon based. Right now in the R25 version i have a lot of greyed squares with nothing there. For me this is unaceptable, so, based in some posts here i have customized the icon file and the txt as well. It seems to be working fine, with a mix of R25 new icons and S24 in the missing spots. For me this frankenstein interface is way better then only r25 with blank spots and it will help with the transition. Iv'e also greyed some of the s24 icons to match the new color pallete. If you want to try, i have the files here. Just do a backup of your own before replacing with these. The icon files are located here (C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R25\resource\modules\c4dplugin\icons) Hope you u like it. Cheers fixed_R25.7z
