  1. I find that highly interesting. Not just how many different usecases there are for blender, but also what kind of different users and cases seem worthy for the blender foundation to get featured in such a video. This really gives the impression, that everyone in welcomed no matter where she/he is coming from Nation, profession and skill wise. I really like that. it is basically the opposite of the alienation we have seen in other areas of the industry. No wonder that a lot of customers who feel excluded look if they can find a new home with Blender.

  2. Exactly my feeling. So many different backgrounds displayed in here, and the truly heartfelt message from Ton, yeah, it is a really good feeling. PS: I just tested Cycles this afternoon, and wow... so much faster ❤️ I will definitely be moving my shortfilm to Blender now. I only wish light linking was implemented... but I will try to figure out some workarounds.

  3. Version 1.0.0

    121 downloads

Hi There I recently posted this but since this is the download area i'll leave it here. This is the modified interface file with a mix of recent R25 Icons and S24 for the missing parts. This way we can see all the missing icons. I also changed the color pallete for better integration with the remaining icons. instructions: just replace the original files with the ones inside the zip file. !! always do a backup first !! the file locations are here: C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R25\resource\modules\c4dplugin\icons Hope you like it Cheers

  4. Thank you so much ... 👍 I would never figured that out... So that's what that TGroup is used for... Actually I indeed was gonna trace them !

  5. Thanks BEZO, looks like that was an issue, the problem was with MagicSolo plugin itself, because it solos out not just a model but all the textures in the viewport and that`s why it caused the program to load all the textures back in.

  7. So I used those VDB cloud files\ from pixellab. just did some low quality renders for test. I do like the volumetric fog more than the zdepth versions. the one with the eagle did't test the fog yet.

  8. Plus Blender supports making bug fixes available for more than 3 months after you purchase....err I mean download...your perpetual license.....errr.....I mean open source....version. Sorry...there is just no way you can fault Blender relative to customer support on quality when you factor in the number of new features in each release vs. the cost they charge for that release -- which is zero. The comparison to C4D is not even valid because given what Maxon charges, we should expect perfection. Unfortunately, since R20 that expectation is only shared by the users. Knowingly shipping a release with missing icons is just not acceptable. You want to give me something that is relevant, growing in capability, improving and free! Well, then I can forgive a few bugs that will be quickly fixed. Dave

  9. Of course this comes out while I am travelling for the first time in a few years! I will have download it first thing when I get back to my studio! I am hoping this is the version I finally learn properly and do a project with.

  10. Have you inspected (in detail) the full release notes of any c4d release? 3d programs are massive and complex. There are bugs...always...lots of them. The issue is if/when they interrupt your work. Many are very minor or only occur in obscure situations.

  11. It's really nothing special and full of mistakes, but here you go. We are supposed to animate three objects: a ball, a bolt, and a plank. I never animated a plank before 😉 I redid all the objects, and found a reasonable ball rig to animate with. It was simple in Houdini to reuse that for the other objects. The file size is a smite too large, so a link instead. animation_test.mp4

  12. Gotta think since you are new to the program that you are using muscle memory from another program that isn't appropriate in Houdini. Sometimes we bring expectations from another paradigm and those expectations simply fail when in a new environment.
