About Me
I'm a 40+ year old broadcast graphics designer from the late 80's until the late 90's. Specializing in promotional media, marketing, brand building and large scale commercial projects, I worked my way through local television news, regional advertising agencies, statewide educational projects and ultimately went out on my own to take a shot at motion picture practical visual effects. I have won 12 Gold Addy Awards, 14 Silver Awards and recently got my first "achievement award"...for my help in redesigning an engine part for VW USA.
When the US economy began to nose-dive in about 2000 and the entertainment industry began to shed jobs by the hundreds every day, I took a job in healthcare promoting and marketing "rehabilitation" facilities....which is a code word for "places to send your parents when you stop being a good human being to your parents". The money was fantastic, but the work was grueling and nine times out of ten, the people that you introduced to the facility died while there. Upon my near mental breakdown, I stepped out of the thriving industry to be a creative again, but found that so many tools had advanced so much in such a short time that I was really kind of a throwback, if not considered out of the game entirely by many of my peers.
Now, I work out of my home in the Orlando, Florida area with my wife of 20 years completing smaller projects that I take great pride in creating. I'm an Adobe Certified Creative Suite Master Instructor...but these days, almost anyone can gain that title in a weekend. I'm winding down my work to focus on the future of 3D in films and creating small pieces of much larger projects as I come up to speed on the numerous things that I DO NOT know in the world of Cinema 4D. Never have I used a program with such an incredible array of tools and uses that I literally could not contemplate them all.
That brings me to you...and I hope to be as much of a help as I am a burden. Thanks so much for creating this place! It is very, very much appreciated!
