  1. Newb question. What node can I connect two noise nodes to, in order to blend them? Thank you.
  2. Thanks everyone for your help! The Sketch and Toon was throwing me off since I hardly every use that. I got a great result and can't thank everyone enough, especially Happypolygon.
  3. This is awesome. Is there anyway to make the tracer paths thinner? I've been futzing around and can't find a way to do it. Also is there a way to make the tracer dissolve away over time? Thanks for all your help.
  4. Hello! I'm trying to make spinning starts that leave a trail. Initially I tried in After Effects by using a long shutter on motion blur, but it's never getting bright enough (really faint). Even if I quadruple the star layers in add mode, it doesn't reach anything beyond muddy. SO, I'm a newb to the tracer object. Any tips on creating a field of stars with a cloner, and then rotating the whole thing so that when it reaches a certain speed I can create a trail? Ideally the trail would need to fade off in a realistic way. Thank you!
  5. Thanks everyone for all these solutions (and scene files)! I'm going to dig and take a look. Can't thank you enough.
  6. I would like to somehow turn an image into pixels (square planes with a tiny bit of spacing around them). The ideas is that the camera is going to zoom out from a single 'pixel' to reveal the full image. At some point during the move I'll switch over to the actual image (motion blur is my friend). Any thoughts on how to get the planes set up in a non-excruciating way? Thank you!
  7. Hi Mike, Thanks for the idea. I think it's just a bug in the latest release. I'm on a Mac. It doesn't happen on the previous 'S' version.
  8. Hello! When I take a snap shot they look fine as thumbnails, but when I click on them I get a weird blown out look. Any ideas? Thanks, Kkamin

    Learning Maya

Thanks, Bentraje. Would you ever be down for a paid consultation? I'd gladly pay for a few hours of training. This of course would be after I completed some tutorials and started hitting some walls. Thanks so much for these resource links! I'll check them out!

    Learning Maya

Thanks for the insights! I have a teaching opportunity at a college that is Maya based. I'm not teaching Maya or anything, but we might need to pop in there to do a few things. -Kevin

    Learning Maya

Hello, For those of you who also know Maya, how much of a learning curve is there learning Maya from Cinema 4D and to gain an intermediate proficiency (a matching level from C4d)? I might be required to learn it, so I'd like to prepare myself accordingly. Thank you for any insights! Kevin
  12. This is awesome! Thank you so much.
  13. There used to be an awesome plug-in for C4D called SteadyCamPro or Steady Glide that allowed you to set-up multiple cameras and interpolate between them with keyframes. There were parameters to adjust things like dampening too. Another plug-in from way back only allow 2 cameras but you could design arcs for the camera to travel between the two cameras. Has anyone come across any cool tools like this? I do a lot of dynamic camera movements for my work and I really dislike using splines to do complex movements Thanks! Kevin
  14. Hello! I need help with a project and I'm looking for someone who can do fluid sims at a professional level. Please IM me a link to some work samples and your rate. Thank you!
