  1. Anyone else with a space mouse on a Mac? Not working on 2024... despite the recent new Maxon/3d Connexion driver,
  2. Anyone know how to change the Transform gizmo text appearance that pops up in the gizmo when you move / rotate / scale. It's sometimes in impossible to see. I can't find the Scheme / colour / background or anything in the HUD Ideally one of these: Make it bigger. Move it out of the way Change the Font Change the background? Often it's impossible to see against the background image - I couldn't find what that Gizmo helper might relate to in the custom scheme editor.

  5. You just need to open the text file and delete the relevant comment 13323 //Select All 13324 //Deselect All 465001206 //Goto Marker... "xxx_unused" // 465001138 // Create Snapshot 2 "xxx_unused" // 465001142 // Swap Snapshot 2 "xxx_unused" // 465001134 // View Snapshot 2 becomes 13323 //Select All 13324 //Deselect All 465001206 //Goto Marker... 465001138 // Create Snapshot 2 465001142 // Swap Snapshot 2 465001134 // View Snapshot 2 Also don't forget to look at the alpha channel for the icons you want in Photoshop and copy that across too. Also if you are doing custom icons - you can do those as operate PNGs right? One other thing I noticed is it screwed up some plugins that had the standard icons / functions on their panels. Maxon really haven't thought about how this would screw everyone over. Dumbing down the product is not the way to go.

  7. We need someone with Immediate availability for next week Very good C4D experience Has Kit to handle a large Multulayered Project file Important - Sketch and Toon Experience. After effects ( just to Pixellate the clean rendered scene ) We are Taking a Pixel art cityscape and turning it into 3d. It's about 60% complete. either take over my project files Completely ( I am sick, kids are sick. Wife away on business! ) or Refine buildings as shown below in city blocks and I'll push on with the animation when I can.   8. No one answered... So I found a pretty good solution. https://www.alphapixel.net/image2plane-2-0-released/ note 2.1 version needed for newer C4D releases - functionally the same. Which basically import a folder of transparent images to a cloner full of planes which you can then animate through by using the offset slider. and means you can retime the video, reverse, ping pong or even do edits on the fly really quickly in the timeline. Sadly this only works on image sequences not movies but better than the POS image sequence / movie handling native C4D has had for like 15 years. Sort it out Maxon! Oh the plug in does loads of other nice things - this is just an added bonus.
  9. I need to create load of animated sprites in a 3D environment... So in know the method for this is to add a plane and a material with a transparent PNG in the Lum channel with the same in the Alpha. And I know to check the animate preview button. I have tried using nodes as that seems to make adding the bitmap a lot easier with the one node controlling the animation but I cannot get that preview in the viewport at all. just stays Static? It renders fine but it's going to be impossible to time all the stuff I need to. Also I seem to remember there is another way? To add a Image sequence to the timeline so I can can retime simply there or create non sequential loops etc Any one have any idea?
  10. Oh I had the whole conversation with Support - they say it is on purpose to Streamline it. But that is the lamest answer I've ever heard. They insane things that now don't have Icons like Select Parent or the the Front / Left / Right viewport buttons!
  11. Seriously Maxon what the hell are you doing!?! It's impossible to create custom layouts! Scores of commands now have no icons at all - the only way to do it is to have Text button lists! This is the old icon set...R23 for example and this is the R25 one!!!

  13. Actually the way the Icons is setup is Really annoying. A single Tif file with Alpha and a Text file reference the Command along side an XY pixel reference of that image. Is that the way Icons are normally done? If you find older Tifs from r24 etc - they are PSD layered and have colour overlay masks where they changed some Icons colours. Anyway, if anyone knows someone at Maxon who came up with the Bright Idea to just KILL all the old icons completely, please push a comedy clown pie in their face.

You need to do some funky stuff with the old Icon file and the new one in photo shop copying both the icon and it's mask Then find the reference in a text file and delete some "xxx_unused" This is genuinely the most stupid thing Maxon have done! I mean why would anyone want an icon for FRONT, TOP, LEFT view... I mean what are we thinking having used C4D for 20 years and being able to create custom layout for out needs, to complain when they arbitrarily Remove the usefulness of that.
