  1. @cerbera Thanks so much. Encouraging words especially appreciated coming from a modeling master! @happypolygon Just for the record I, I have been with C4D since R6 so I know a good thing when I see it. I feel sorry for anyone still using the standard renderer. You are truly missing out. Maybe Redshift is just too complex for you.
  2. For anyone considering Redshift: this was made with all procedural texturing, no textures, and displacement is done by Redshift. No UVWs involved. No Bodypaint!! The eyes are procedural too. This to me is total magic and Redshift is endless fun! Also, I have forgotten what a crash is like with my M1 Mac mini with 16 Gb RAM, C4d R25.010, Mac OS 11.6, and RS 3.057. This is what art direction is supposed to feel like.
  3. Bezo and Cervera got it. Also you might want to put the new mesh in this simplified rig. VDB 1 R.c4d
  4. Be sure in Project Settings you have Linear Workflow checked. That one gave me fits for a while! Hey Southpaw! I have learned a ton from you over the years and still have a bunch of your example files. Thanks again!
  5. I definitely want to thank Maxon for their superb support of C4D and Redshift on the M chip. It makes me so glad I stuck with C4D since R6. I have a lowly M1 Mac mini with 16 Gb RAM (which was dirt cheap) and the experience has been a joy. I have forgotten what a crash is like and the viewport is so responsive! Insydium has been wonderful in the same way but they have not come out with a native renderer in Cycles so I have fully switched to Redshift. It is wonderful on the M chips! Soon I will have 32 cores of RISC chip and 64 Gb RAM and I am doing a countdown. Thank you Maxon for being so responsive! SREK is not too shabby either.
  6. I am hooked on Redshift. The combination of C4D R25.010, RS 3.057, and XP latest version is Nirvana for me.
  7. I don't believe some of these early "benchmarks". Let's have a lot more input but from real machines and not estimated or bogus results put out by Intel.
  8. If you are worried about price just hang out for the Mac mini M1 Max with 32 cores and 64 Gb RAM like I am going to. I jump for joy over my Mac mini M1 16 Gb RAM with C4D R25.010 and RS 3.057. I have forgotten what a crash Is like. I will switch from still images and back to animations when my render speeds will be off the charts. Currently all of my Adobe Creative Suite is rock solid and most are now M chip native. I am NOT going to buy a gorgeous MBP because I have no need for portability. I had no idea I had this much internal strength. In the meantime I will be reading feedback reports from those lucky souls who have their M1 Max. (For the record, my current machine was dirt cheap)
  9. I would be glad to get you going with Redshift. It is a joy.
  10. I learned Redshift from the fabulous LFO Designs video course. Highly recommended.

Thank you! Good man. Yes, many years and using C4D with X-Particles and Redshift it just gets more magical and more magical. The fun never ends.

You can delete it. That is from a very long time ago.
  13. Check out my last example file and its Selection Tags. You can limit extrusions, displacements, etc to selections.
  14. And here is a way with simple MoGraph if you can prepare the object prior to placing in the Cloner: Untitled 1.c4d
  15. And here is a Redshift example using a Cloner. Redshift is a joy with C4D. TriPlanar Node 3.tif
  16. The node allows you to colorize the X, Y, or Z surfaces of any object. Here is an example. If you ever get Redshift I would be glad to send you example files. Terrain Shader 2.tif
  17. If you have Redshift, the State Node is perfect for this and Triplanar is good too.
  18. I can't even get the points on your spline to display so I have no idea what's going on. Look into Hair Spline Constraint tag or using Xpresso make the specific point you want to attach it to at the location of the Null.
  19. I know zero about joints but here is how you attach objects (or a null) to the end of Dynamic splines: Hair Tip Objects 3.c4d
  20. So glad I could help! Hair Xpresso is really powerful and no one uses it!
  21. And here is a third way using the Push Apart Effector. All three techniques can be made as detailed as you need between the main technique and the surfaces. 8 8.c4d Reaction Diffusion is HUGE in nature e.g. Zebra stripes, embryologic growth, coral, fish coloring, etc, etc. It is a topic really worth exploring and endless fun.
  22. The ultimate way to do this is using a technique called Reaction Diffusion in Photoshop but you can recreate that technique in native C4D using Fields: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RWkCLhO4uOvUxLEyXniSavXab4AIBm7j/view?usp=sharing And here is the way using a Reaction-Diffusion animation made with Photoshop: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jUQ2qHjcUfjSQM04vXG0d6p5ro9BmJby?usp=sharing
  23. I think this does what you are looking for. Shader Switch.c4d An even simpler way to do it is to use the Integer User Data Node
  24. RS Mul is the multiply node and not the Multishader Node
