Are blender forums so poor that no one uses them ? What is this craving with people trying to push blender in a cinema 4d forum ? There is clearly some personal psychology going on here..or maybe it is just that blender forums are a waste of space and users feel the need to tell us how wonderful blender is in this forum

Not being a pro I am clearly guessing here but I would have to assume that if a client sets out their requirements how the pro gets to the final result is really of no importance, what counts is the clients gets what they want , on time and at a price that suits both pro and client. It is all smoke and mirrors at the end of the day. Sinsy and Bugle. In my world I take projects on as a challenge. I have an idea, or watch a movie and decide I want to recreate that in C4D. Take for example explosions. I could easily do a lot of stuff with stock footage as for example provided by Action Essentials and then just use TFD for the 3D hero shots. But to me that is cheating and defeats the point of the challenge I have set myself. I am often tempted to do so but then think to myself " What is the point..what would I gain from posting that video on youtube when all I have done is some comp work ?". Now if compositing was my main hobby that would be fine but in my world there is always my alter ego looking over my shoulder and tutting.." If you can't do it boy..don't fudge it" I am under no illusion that good comp work is easy but I know I could make some amazing scenes based on Action Essential footage, post them on youtube and get the praise...but my alter Ego would be there..giving me the look and shaking ..my..head. " CHEAT !! " That said after I have done the scene and tutorial I am working on which is a specific TFD project I think I will broaden my scope and mix in many elements including compositing and using Action Essentials. In that way I am selling the generalized CGI tutorial as opposed to specifically teaching TFD. But I will always use C4D as my main core..simply because I just love the program even though it has me pulling my hair out much of the time and screaming at it ..I have tried LW and MAX and a bit of Maya and have never felt at ease with them. With C4D i can just build one up and spark it up and sit and doodle..it is so pleasing to work with until of course you start trying to make demands of it..with this babe is is definitely not a case of treat her mean and keep her keen !!

Of course he has every right. Yeah far to many people being unfriendly I mean If I was a Marxist I may have taken offence . I was not questioning his right, everybody has the right to do whatever they wish in this existence..I have the right to question them, support them oppose them or ignore them...I was questioning his motives. Perhaps he wants MAXON to make Cinema 4D free like Blender ? But as he states he does not like the program and finds difficulty in using it, I assume demo versions, what would be the point ?

Hey guys and girls..I am not taking any sides..I really do not understand any of this subscription stuff apart from it makes budgeting simpler for my small mind.

That would be great !! I need to buy a new microphone and I have a rule I cannot buy anything for my C4D work unless it pays for itself. As a single parent my priority is food on the table then rent... sparks, gas etc. I would love to go professional in CGI then I can excuse my self and purchase what kit I want as it becomes the provider..putting food on the table. That is a dream / plan I have but to go pro needs some serious kit upgrade. I need at least a workstation running as a dedicated CGI box at present having just this box ( 6 core I7 3630 K )means it gets tied up for hours on something that more often than not just gets binned. If I could guarantee my CGI pulling in say £200 a month that would be sweet..£100 a month to pay for kit / software and £100 on drugs. Then I can step up a grade and pay for all those wild women I dream of

Those " Pros" that switch to free Blender..will they pass on their savings in production costs to their established clients? Will they F........... Actually thinking about it...Marx would love this topic. There is no "Middle Class" there are only The Workers and those who own the means of production. Blender is a pure example of Software Socialism / Anarchy...but what would he have to say about those who gain profit from paid extensions/ plugins to blender ? If the only app was Blender the paid for plugin developers would own the means of production for those niches.. If the plugin developers were a cooperative ? If the plugin developer was a sole trader ?There is a Doctorate to be had here..........
