  1. Hi all, I am trying to work out how to use UDIMS with redshift in c4d. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I watched a video where the guy changed the 1001 to <UDIM> but that doesn't work for me. Much thanks, Damian
  2. Hi there, I am trying to render an animation of a character that has hair dynamics.. over team render on my mini-render farm. I have cached the dynamics of the hair simulation. But when I render on team render there is discrepancy between the dynamics of the hair between nodes. By that I mean there is a difference in the hair between the render nodes. What I am guessing is the hair material that is driving the frizz/kink etc is possibly causing the issue as it's being interpolated differently between nodes. I am guessing there isn't any way to cache this? The only way that I can think of is to convert the hair to guides, and then disable everything other than the color/spec/thickness/transparency on the material. I tried this briefly but the guides went haywire in one part of the animation where they were close to the characters clothes (Marvelous Designer MDD simulation) Just trying to work out if there is anything that I am missing? Really hoping that this is possible. Much thanks, Damian
  3. Great work mate. Would love to see the topology.
  4. Thank you!! I will try this right now. Don't know why I didn't see that. :) Much thanks!
  5. Thank you very much you guys! I really appreciate the help. I will check out the scene as soon as my computer finishes a simulation test, whenever that might be. lol I have watched those videos, very cool stuff thank you. Though I am wanting to animate through the length of the hair. Hmm I don't think I am explaining this very well at all. I want the rest hold to be say at 50% for all of the hair. Then the plan is to find a way to, starting at the base/root of the hair.. Slowly decrease the rest hold to zero along the length of the hair. So starting at the root and out towards the tip of the hair. Not sure if I am making sense? Any thoughts? Thanks again! :)
  6. Hi all, I am not experienced in Xpresso at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can only assume that Xpresso would be needed to make this work. But open to any ideas. :) I want to have a fall off of sorts drive the Rest Hold in Hair Dynamics. So when say (for example) a Null or Plain Effector animate through the hair, they decrease the Rest Hold from 50% to 0%. Therefore animating the Rest Hold gradually through the hair length. I hope that makes sense. :) Much thanks!! Damian
  7. Very nice work! :)
  8. Thank you Igor. I will try and work out what export settings are compatible with C4D. Hopefully it is just a case of changing the settings. That would be fantastic! :) Cheers, Damian
  9. Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get meshes from Solidworks to C4D successfully. If exported as an obj or stl it will just be terribly triangulated and therefore look terrible in a render. From my research I have come across Polytrans. Though I have not tried this. If anyone has any insight into this, it would be amazing! I have never used Solidworks so I don't know what is possible. Worst case scenario is I have to get 3DS Max, but I would much prefer to stay in C4D! Much thanks, Damian
  10. Very nice! Love the style! :)
  11. Man that is some seriously fantastic work! Well done!
  12. Great work, love the design. :)
  13. Great work!! :) Cheers, Damian
  14. That is some fantastic work! Definitely had me thinking it was 2D. I've been trying to find ways to get a convincing 2D look in Cinema for a while. I haven't spent much time on it but you definitely have me beat! :) With the quick tests I did I also wanted to try and find a way to better control shadows. No luck yet but here's hoping. :) Great job!
