  1. Oh don't stress about that! I personally just enjoy seeing overview of different techniques with pictures. For detailed tutorials I'd be online or dedicated books
  2. Oh brilliant! Looking forward to getting that in the post!
  3. Really great stuff, especially the lights there! I found it a bit awkward or clunky to use with the folders, camera animation, and timeline. When they signaled there'll be subs coming I stopped using it straight away lol
  4. I enjoyed his interactions on the livestreams. There are a few really good reps for Maxon on those livestreams so I think from purely virtual perspective they're in good hands. Am sure anyone at conventions or IRL with deeper connections will feel the impact more with him not at those in future.
  5. Very welcome Kuba Best of luck on your journey!
  6. Yeah it's presented poorly. They should have separate C4D and Redshift boxes with the combo offered after choose to buy one. It inevitably will happen that Redshift will be bundled with C4D as a single rental. Maybe they're just waiting until the last of the perpetual Redshift maintenances expire next year.
  7. I see there's a new Ciniversity website here - Cineversity (maxon.net) Or maybe it's been there a while and I just haven't checked. The old site is still behind the sub wall which is unfortunate. I'm looking for some toon rig tutorials for R23 which aren't on the new site
  8. I wonder if there are rough seas ahead with 2023 and 2024 "Media" numbers given the lengthy US actor/writer strikes, layoffs, and reduced budgets for advertising in the current market.
  9. Just out of interest which area were you searching for work in, film, tv, advertising? I'd imagine C4D's still used predominantly in advertising. I think Unreal still requires a DCC to bring the assets and animated objects etc. in from. Also it was recently announced Unreal will be going subscription. Will be interesting to see what price point they decide and what kind of impact that will have
  10. Very good interview indeed! Enjoying this type of content. Thanks for putting this together!
  11. I think the color is configured through whichever render engine you use to display the VDB
  12. I found pCloud very good. When I had fast broadband in the city pCloud was perfect for Team Render as all machines had the P drive mapped. There was a handy backup and sync between machines as well as ability to expand cloud space. I use OneDrive for documents and music. It has a 1TB limit though so I don't use it for renders or other large data.
  13. From reading his rant he didn't want to set a charge for what people actually valued. He wanted people to look at his other work which people obviously didn't value. It's a common thing to happen.
  14. The second sentence labels entire user base abusive and disrespectful. Made something available for free then complains for not getting any money or appreciation in return. Blames every other person for their own poor decisions. After reading that I'm glad I didn't use it often. Wish them the best in future endeavors!
  15. Certainly feel like getting squeezed to use Houdini, Unreal, and Blender. Most of the renders I've seen from Unreal are very "computer game" looking which I don't like. Will spend some time on it as I could have the wrong impression. Getting pretty tired of this constant learning new software tbh. I might just decide to stick with what I have and when they stop working so be it.
  16. Isotropix have ceased new sales of Clarisse iFX. No public announcement yet, but maybe tomorrow or next week. They released a Service Pack (SP12) which removes node lock on licenses for existing customers and will allow installs on two separate machines for perpetuity. Will provide bug fixes but no new features for the foreseeable future. Alarm bells went off when the Isotropix staff and CEO just disappeared without warning from the Discord channel yesterday, removed IG, Facebook profiles, and multiple videos from YouTube. Also removed Early Access installs of Clarisse that had their hybrid GPU/CPU render engine Angie. People that work in studios relayed word into Discord channel throughout the day of phone calls from Isotropix to their studios of an upcoming announcement, but light on details. It was a pretty niche software that had small amount of large clients with DNEG, ILM, Dreamworks, Marvel and other studios using it on different projects. 😩
  17. Oh right, review in the topic name I was expecting to read a review 🤣 C4D focused books are very hit and miss from the few I've bought over the years.
  18. Looks like they listened to the feedback about pricing. It's also available Mac and Linux. New 'Creator' tier Sub Pricing Permanent Pricing
  19. Was testing out the workflow from Character Creator to Clarisse which was a bit tricky. It needs to go through Blender / C4D then onto Clarisse but I need to figure some stuff out before I can do character renders in there. I'm going to use CC to C4D for my character stuff until figure out Blender more. The face animation is a setting from a Reallusion pack called digital souls. All customizable as far as I know. This was just a test to see if I can get a render done between the apps
  20. Oh apologies I didn't read the first message properly. Unfortunately I don't have any direct contacts with Maxon.
  21. While there are some Maxon staff here in personal capacity I think best to log a ticket directly with Maxon for your issues Support Center (maxon.net)
  22. Paying a sub for C4D, but not getting access to the full C4D. Sounds crazy. I wouldn't be too pleased with that either.
