  1. Thank you @teknow I will have a look. For now I would just need 3-4 1:1 lesson to get up to speed and then I can follow through with tutorials and courses. if you know anyone that could be interested, could you please send it my way? I am happy to talk prices and time 🙂
  2. Hi All, I am looking for some 1:1 lessons on Redshift, just to get up to speed. I have a basic knowledge of Arnold Render, but I can see there are some differences and I don’t have huge amount of time to follow tutorials on YouTube. If anyone could help me I would be happy to discuss further. I'm super chilled and happy to chat. You can please get in touch with me. Thanks a lot in advance!
  3. @srek @Rectro Thank you guys. I will post some specs here, so you can tell me what you think. Thank you for your help. I definitely want to go with NVIDIA graphic card. I will look into pre-assembled PC and post here. @AandBbudget is flexible, but would not like go over 2K dollars, especially as this would be a second machine.
  4. I am Looking for recommendations for a PC tower Quick introduction: I am Mac user for about 15 years. I do all my graphic design works on Mac and not planning to switch to a PC for those. Having said that, I feel a bit cut out using Cinema 4D, as I want to try Octane Render, and currently I am on 2016 iMac, which is slow when doing renderings. I am still a beginner, so I want to play around with Arnold, Octane Render and Physical Render. I just don’t want to wait 20+ mins for renders as I am doing at the moment. This is massively frustrating and it is slowing down my learning. _____ What PC would you recommend? 1. I am mainly looking only for the tower, I have a monitor. I know custom PCs could be cheaper, but at the same time I feel like getting something on Alienware maybe. I guess they can still be upgraded and to be fair, I may use it only 2-3 times a week. Getting something preset gives me a little bit of a piece of mind, as I really don’t have time to build it on my own. I am also not really super tech-y. Of course if there is a massive difference in price I would consider, but ideally if I can get something from Dell or somewhere else I would prefer it. There is also the fact I may get some kind of support perhaps. If I ^%@! up something in the custom build and it’s gonna take me days for solving it, it will be a pain. I have to mention that I am also pretty busy, and although I would like to spend hours on building something custom, I would rather use that time to crack on with Cinema 4D and use my free time for software learning. 2. I guess the NVDIA graphic card should be the focal point as I am shooting for quicker renders. 3. I haven’t been in the PC world for like 15 years, so I am totally out of the loop. My budget is flexible. The other thing to consider is that a preset PC could be handy: I could maybe try it for 30 days, and if I don’t like it I could return it, I guess. 4. What do you think would be a good choice? Not shooting for the absolute best, but maybe something really good, that I can upgrade in the next year or so. So I could start maybe with 32gb or 64gb and next year upgrade to 128GB. Maybe starting with a good Nvidia card, but upgrade to a better one next year.I was looking to Alienware as they seem kinda cool and easy to set up. Maybe I am wrong, hence here for help. 😄 5. I am based in the USA, so I could buy at Amazon, Best Buy, Dell and so on. Ideally I would get something in the next week or so. _________ Any recommendation is really appreciated. Bear in mind that the PC will be almost only used for CInema 4D and rendering. All the post production in Photoshop is done on my Mac. Thank you in advance.
  5. Hi, @Cerbera it makes perfect sense thank you! The preview point you make is a very good one. I am sure I can reach great results with the Physical in C4D and I will look more into it 🙂 Thank you!
  6. Hi all, I am pretty new here, but I am already liking this community a lot and I hope I can make more and more contribution soon. 🙂 I have been trying out Arnold Rendering in the past few days. As you can see here below in these rendering (Yellow Man, Box and wooden sphere) I am really starting up, but I have a few questions: Yellow Man https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8umjNe4 Box and wooden sphere https://share.getcloudapp.com/6qux71Y9 1. Do you think is OK if i start with Arnold Render? I don’t have great expertise in the Cinema 4D Native Render or Physical, but what I like about Arnold is that it gives me a quick (not always, I may have to buy a better machine) live preview and I can see where to put lights and so on.
Maybe it’s not a good reason, I don’t know, but having been years in graphic design, I need that instant gratification of seeing how something looks. I wouldn’t want to skip important things of course, but I feel like Arnold is a good first step. Do you have any opinion on this? 2. The thing I am a little worried is that (from what I understand) Arnold has its own materials and lights, so do you think it could be tricky being stuck with those and not using the C4D lights and material? I have no idea about this... 3. This is maybe redundant, but I feel like when you start a new tool, as big as Cinema 4D you need some gratification along the way, especially if you learn it on your own. Maybe something like using Arnold can give you more instant feedback and make you a better 3D artist? It seems like when you start you spend days and hours with cubes and sphere (@___@), trying to make a scene look decent. Anyway, the rendering here for Yellow Man is basic I think. What do you think should be improved? I feel like there is still grain which I haven’t been able to remove yet. I still need to learn tons of course, but I feel like that if I can play around with these setups, then will be easier when I model something to give it a professional look. Thanks in advance for your comments. 🥳
  7. Thank you all, it is appreciated. I think I will look around if 3D World is still a thing and I may grab a copy here and there. Have a good day!
  8. Heya friends, I am learning C4D lately and I was wondering if you would recommend any 3D magazines to read casually. I remember back in the day I use to buy Computer Arts, Web Designer, .NET and - although you could argue that these magazines sometimes are more a show off of other people’s work - occasionally I found some good inspiration and tips and tricks in there. 🙂 For 3D I am really not an expert and I would enjoy having something in the mail every month that keeps my curiosity up and also makes me relax with some 3D reading far from my screen. Any recommendations? (3D world, 3D Artist... ) Thanks in advance. 🤟🙏
  9. Hi all, I am I am looking for a C4D Tutor/Teacher to get some 1:1 online lessons I am a beginner, but have solid understanding of graphic design. I can do some basic renderings. I am looking to get up to speed with C4D, mainly concentrating on lighting and modelling. Potentially 1 lesson a week for 10-15 weeks. Can you recommend anyone? Please let me know.
  10. Thank you very much for your Suggestions @DasFrodo 🙂 You're absolutely right! One of the thing I find pretty difficult at the moment is render settings. Do you have any suggestions on that? I have used the native physical render in C4D and then a few days ago a friend suggested to me to try Arnold. The things is, I think for now it's too much to take, as I am not even used to the native C4D rendering yet, so using Arnold opens up a whole other world. Also from what I can see, Arnold has new ways to treat lights and materials, which presents another challenge. If you know any youtube tutorials I can have a look. I have already looked at some, but it's tricky to find good quality ones. Thank you!
  11. I introduced myself a week ago or so (maybe 10 days) I have been a 2D Designer for almost 15 years now jumping into 3D. These are my first renderings after a week, pretty much, on cinema 4D... Could you please give me some feedback? Maybe you see mistakes, weird things, that as a not 3D person I don't see. (or any suggestions, tips feedback welcome, thanks so much in advance) I haven't focused on modelling whatsoever, more on setting up lights and the scene. Please let me know, link here >> https://cl.ly/01ed12d4db0d Thanks a lot in advance!
  12. @Rectro Thanks so much for coming back to me Dan, it is really appreciated. Actually I didn't even think about Materials, but this is such an important part! I will follow your advice, thanks!
  13. Hi all, I have been doing 2D design for over 12 years and I am now jumping into 3D. My main aim is to model and render, so far these are the 2 areas that I want to develop and use them together with Photoshop for post production. I am mainly interested in icon design, as this is my core skill as 2D graphic designer. I heard great things about this forum, so I have decided to join and I am glad to be here. 🙂 This is the level I would like to reach (pls click on the example below), and I am wondering if you can advise how long it is going to take me in your opinion. (I know this is hard to say, but a rough estimate would be appreciated...) https://cl.ly/950eb30c6152 At this stage I can navigate cinema 4D and do very simple rendering with basic lighting. I am learning something everyday, but I would appreciate any good tip you could give. In terms of lighting, do you recommend any plugins? (Greyscalegorilla Light Kit pro for example) Should I look into rendering engine such Octane or Vray? Anything that could speed up my learning would be appreciated I am pretty good in vector graphic (core skill), so hopefully I can pick up modelling really quickly. At this stage I am concentrating in creating scenes where there is decent lighting and cool models. Thank you very much in advance for any tips or recommendations!
