  1. Hello everybody,

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you all that U-Render is closing down. Despite making great progress this year we are unable to continue as a business. We are, as you can imagine, heartbroken. Thank you so much to each one of you for all your comments, suggestions, encouragement, artwork and even just for being with us along the way.

We are going to issue a version which will support special perpetual keys so you can keep using U-Render even if we cannot be there to see the awesome work you create with it.

Hopefully we will meet some of you again in the future.

    Best wishes to you all.

    The U-Render Team

  2. Hello!
Fritz is right! The emissive effect is done by screen space global illumination. The clipping effect can be reduced with the overscan render setting. With this setting a larger area is rendered. Since this costs performance, it wasn't used in this demo-scene. The advantage of this method is you won't have to crop the image in post-production.
Our team is aware of the need for special hair/fur rendering, which will be implemented in the future. Regarding skin, you can get nice results with the current SSS (see attachment). I guess that the implementation of real time ray tracing would bring this effect to the next level.

    Kind regards,

    Peter

  3. Hi there!

We are very happy to inform you that today we released a new version of U-Render.

With version 2022.8.10 SP1, U-Render introduces support for Cinema 4D 2023 along with improved stability and accuracy.

Additionally, this update improves the licensing system by allowing a larger time discrepancy between the licence server and the local device.

Check out all the details and download it here.

Contact us here or via email, if you have any questions.

    Have a nice day!

  4. Hi there!

We are very happy to inform you that yesterday we released a new version of U-Render.

Release 2022.8 introduces a new licensing system, in order to better match the licensing solutions of U-Render’s host applications. This new system behaves much as your host application’s licensing does and so will be more familiar and easier to manage.

U-Render’s new licensing solution is available in a new service pack (SP) of this current release, and all subsequent versions of U-Render. Earlier versions of U-Render will continue to work on the device they are activated on, but their licences will be locked to the current device.

Read more about this release and download it here.

Contact us here or via email, if you have any questions.

    Have a nice day

This looks really good. The NPR material is particularly useful for my projects. Congratulations with this new version!

Is there any fixes for the Motion Blur and transparency issues of the last versions?

Also, any news about the Maya version?

    Hi Marcio!

Thanks for your feedback. We are working on the fixes you mentioned and the Maya integration is coming very soon 🙂

  7. We are very happy to inform you that the latest release of U-Render is online!

Release 2022.4 brings a brand-new package of features for Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR), Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI), Multi-materials, Sharpening filter, an easy-to-use installer and a free assets library.

Non-photo-real rendering (NPR) focuses on enabling a wide variety of expressive styles for digital art. In its very first version, it offers many new features, such as color gradients, specularity, emissive, rim light, normal / bump, but also mask, displacement and overwrite lines. The lines drawn can be applied scene wide or on a per-material basis allowing enhanced artistic granularity on the style applied.

Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI) allows creating a more authentic looking real-world lighting environment by adding indirect lighting within the screen view area.

Multi-materials helps to save time with cloned objects and numerous materials to manage.

Release 2022.4 introduces the sharpening filter as well. This helps for printed rendering, when details are needed to be shown. In combination with DOF the sharpening filter boosts the focused area reaching much more reality and eye-catching effects.

U-Render has also improved the installation process with an easy-to-use installer.

Furthermore, this release offers Cinema 4D S26 support.

  8. Hello everybody!

We’re excited to inform you that for the very first time, U-RENDER will join RTC 2021 - RealTime Conference, the fully virtual world’s premiere event for real-time communities and innovation.

This RTC edition will deal with a very exciting topic: The Rise of the Metaverse. Through workshops, panel discussions and open keynotes, you will be able to hear from the leaders who are changing the world in real-time as they share innovations across industries about how they are populating the Metaverse.

How can you join us at RTC 2021?

For all the event’s duration (2021/12/13-15) U-RENDER will have a virtual booth where we will show our latest demo scenes, but only.

On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 11 PM (CET), you can have the possibility to follow a live panel discussion about the challenges of small companies and startups in the CG Industry.

Our Founder & CTO Martin Weber and our CPO Ralph McEntagart will discuss this topic with Jean-Colas Prunier, Founder & CEO &Product Designer of PocketStudio.

What happens if you’re not online during the event?

Don’t worry! Our panel discussion, like the other events in the program as well, will be available on demand on the RTC’s website.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our virtual booth and interacting with you during the panel discussion.

Registration is open now and free.

  9. 3D rendering is very helpful in Medical Visualization, and real-time rendering will be having a big potential here.

We are conducting right now an internal research in order to understand the needs, the workflows and the frustration points of medical visualizers.

If you are working on this type of projects, just take 6 minutes to help us.
Here is the link to the survey: Medical Visualization Research

Thank you in advance for your contribution!

  10. Hello everybody,
My name is Benjamin and I am from U-RENDER
Good to hear that you are exited about the software.

According to the info presented when purchasing a license:

"Includes a node-locked version of the renderer and the Cinema 4D Plug-in.
After payment, you will receive an activation code to activate your license on your chosen computer."

This would mean only a single computer.

I see where the confusion lies. This is indeed misleading. I can assure you: You absolutely can activate U-RENDER on two computers and work on them. If you want to use a third computer simply deactivate the license on one of the two and activate it on the third computer. This information can also be found on the website but it is true that the sentence you copied is on the website. Rest assured that we will fix that ASAP so that there is no confusion. Thanks for the feedback 😃
