  1. This method seemed to do the trick thanks, the above and then experimenting with the different texture 'projection' tag properties. Not sure how the Offset U Offset V parameters correlate with the texture outcome but after trial and error, these numerics worked. Feeling a lot more confident with my process now thanks for helping me tidy things up. JAY.B
  2. This is really useful and I will definitely follow this for all my future projects, thanks! I have taken out the boole now, one less element to confuse things, I am still having issues I will check what the Phong is doing to the shape — My c4d document is attached above, thanks for you help EDIT: Actually, I haven't tired it with this approach yet — 3 x 5 plane object, make editable. The file above contains a revision of Igors T shape X 3, I will give this alternative a try and update there post. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the tip, I really appreciate it — I will use this method in future, I have tidied up the shape now using the technique above, a quick test shows the material texture continues to have the same issue. I will make more tests, attaching the file (plus one of the video texture image sequence pngs for reference) if you have the time to give it a quick look over for me thanks! forte_shape03red_test02_A.c4d
  4. I'm new to C4D, learning my way around the program and probably not doing everything correctly. I have an object that consists of 6 rectangles, (image attached) grouped in a boole to make them unite and nested in a subdivision surface which has a material assigned to it. It is an octane material so that I can use emission in the environment, and it consists of a png image sequence video texture. No matter what I do I can't get the texture to wrap the object successfully, it recognises the separate rectangles in a random manner, the vertical Y and the horizontal X planes seem to correlate independently with texture but not as a unified grouped object. I have probably created the shape incorrectly right from the start any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  5. That sounds like a good workaround for my current set up, thanks. I had considered doing it all remotely via team viewer, but your method of only initialising the render remotely and using dropbox to share files makes a lot of sense. On the other hand, if my graphic card in my home macbook does not support the render manager (e.g. redshift) but my render work-station at the office does, am I correct in thinking the only way to utilise redshift3d will be to do the entire job remotely via splashtop or teamvewer?
  6. Hi, I am new to 3D development and will be purchasing a new computer set up soon, but for the short term I would like to make the most of what i have got — At home I work on an old 2018 macbook pro with a Radeon Pro 560X graphics card and at my office I have a decent PC core 17 with NVIDA cpu. Is there a way that I can utilise my office PC power remotely but still work on my macbook from at home? I have a license for Cinema 4D and Arnold for both computers, and although my laptop does not have the right specs I am wondering if i can use it to connect with the PC remotely to benefit from redshift3d and octane rendering. All advice on if this is possible and how to get the best out of my setup welcome! Thanks in advance
