  1. @Cerbera THANK YOU SO MUCH! I deeply appreciate your input. This is so incredibly helpful. I'm running a couple test this morning!
  2. Hi everyone, I had a client ask if I would model a handbag similar to this one here. It's basically a very slouchy paper bag style clutch. I'm trying to figure out the best workflow to create something like this. It's slouchy and organic and I'm hung up over how to start and would love to know how you guys would tackle this project. On one end, I think I could do this in Marvelous Designer - the one downside is that it's not the easiest to modify the exported model or work in two programs in general. On the other hand, I think I could model this bag when it is "stiff" and then maybe apply some sort of slouchiness through soft body simulation or cloth simulation and then sculpt further folds. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks! Haruko
  3. Ahh thank you so much for the generous offer. I truly appreciate it. I had a friend convert the file for me and it wasn't that much better. I'm going to have to remodel this.
  4. Thank you, that was super helpful. I'm wasn't familiar with working with CAD files. I was just starting to think that it would be more efficient if I remodeled this! It's a relatively simple product. Thanks again!
  5. Hey everyone, A client gave me a .stp CAD file of their product. When I import it into Cinema 4D, there's a lot of triangulation that's problematic. Is there any plugin, conversion service, import setting, etc that I can use to reduce or eliminate this? I've been trying everything with no luck! Thanks, Haruko
  6. Hey everyone, I'm Haruko and I'm a longtime, largely self taught Cinema 4D user. I started doing 3D when I was around 13, before there were things like School of Motion or Motion Design School. I learned from Deviantart, Shadowness and random books from back in the 90's before everything was digital and Youtube was a thing. Anyone else remember this or am I just aging myself? Anyways, I'm a Creative Director that works in branding, packaging, photography and 3D product visualization. My longest, most contentious love affair has been with Cinema 4D. I used it obsessively until I was around 21 and then stopped for basically 9 years after feeling like I wasn't a great fit to work in the CG industry. I got back into it in 2020 when I ended up having a ton of free time cooped up in my apartment during quarantine. I'm really happy to join this community and hope I can help some people out! I use Cinema 4D R23 and Redshift. Here's some things I've made:
