  1. I'm working on a caped superhero animation made up of a series of Mixamo animations. The cloth, belt and collider tags for the hero's cape work fine with the first t-pose animation but then collider tag seems to stop working in the second imported animation. The cape starts breaking through the character even though I've added a collider tag to the second imported animation as well. I've tried adding collider tags to the skin and rigging and that doesn't seem to make any difference. Here's my process. First I import the FBX t-pose and add some body armor and a cape to the rigging. The cape has a cloth tag and a belt tag that connects the cape to the body armor which has a collider tag. I also add a collider tag to the Mixamo character. Then I add the animation as a motion clip with "Remove included animation..." checked to the motion timeline. When I play the timeline everything works fine. Then I merge the second Mixamo animation. Before adding it as a motion clip, I put a collider tag on the character. I de-select "Remove included...." when adding it as a motion clip. The problem happens when I add the second Mixamo animation as a motion clip to the timeline. In this part the character is more active and jumps around. The animations combine seamlessly from t-pose to action, the cape remains belted to the the body armor but the the cape moves through the character and his armor. It's as if the collider tag isn't working but also like all the weight, thickness and bendiness settings on the cloth tag are gone. Any idea why this is happening and what some possible solutions might be?
  2. Hi there. When I change values in the Coordinate Manager with the arrows I have to then hit Enter to make the changes happen. Is there a way to have the coordinate manager behave like like it does in the Attributes window so that the changes update automatically as I change the values without hitting Enter? Thanks, Dave
  3. Hi there, In C4D Redshift renderview (see attached) ACES 1.0 SDR-video is being applied to the image and it looks great. But when I do the final render (see attached) it's not being applied so the image looks all washed out. When I render the image in the Picture Viewer the image looks washed out like the Final render. It's washed out but I can go into the View Transform in the upper right corner and change the configuration from Embedded to Project and then in Color Space select the ACES 1.0 SDR-video. When I do that the image matches the original renderview. Is there a way to set up the final render so that ACES 1.0 SDR-video is already applied to the frame? I have a 1000 frame animation and don't want to have to do this to every image. Thanks, Dave
  4. I have four different cloners with deformers but I'll start with the first one. There's a cylinder object with 2350 polygons (165 kb). Only the cylinder is animated as it goes through a bend deformer and then a FFD deformer. This is cloned 96 times in a grid array.
  5. I'm doing a comparison right now of the original cloner version of my file to one where I baked to alembic all the cloners. The original file took 12 hours to render one frame so it may take a while to see if the alembic version is any faster. But it sounds like you can't generalize that baking to alembic files are faster to render. Any thoughts on how to preserve the animations of cloners when they're made editable and connected?
  6. Is there any benefit in terms of rendering time to baking to alembic all the cloner animations?
  7. I made the cloners editable but when I connect the clones I lose the animation. Is there a way to combine the clones and keep all the animations?
  8. I've got a project with a couple of cloners and one of the cloners has a deformer on it. It's taking an incredibly long time to render. 1. Does the instance mode of the cloner affect render times? Is multi-instance faster than instance? 2. If I bake to alembic the cloners will that improve render times? Thanks!!
  9. Hi there, I've got a camera that moves through a series of positions. Is it possible to generate a spline with keyframes at each position? So it's kind of the opposite of Align to Spline. Instead of starting with a spline and then aligning the camera to the spline, I'm starting with the camera positions and then creating the spline with those positions. Thanks, Dave
