  1. Thank you for looking! I figured that much out already in fact and it kind of works but it goes wrong when the shoulders rotate at all so I think there might be something else I'm missing. It's good enough for a start though!
  2. I'm trying to rig a cloak on a character, I was told a good way to do it would be to use the toon rig with multiple tail components for the cloak. It seems to be working great, but I just can't see how to change it to follow the shoulders rather than the pelvis. The documentation doesn't seem to cover much about editing pre existing rigs. Can anyone help?
  3. Oh that's amazing thank you so much, I didn't realise you were the one who made the rig! It's really fantastic, so much fun to work with! I wasn't sure about upgrading to S24 just yet but I guess I've got a good reason to now.
  4. @everfreshOk maybe I'm being dumb here but how exactly do you duplicate the tail component? The character builder only lets you add one. Do you have to duplicate the entire character object? Or is it a case of picking out all the joints and controllers from the hierarchy and duplicating and linking everything manually? That's more than a little daunting, this setup is pretty intimidating... 😬

I don't suppose you could show me a screenshot of your controller setup by any chance? @CerberaYeah, I've worked with cloth enough that I would never even consider doing this kind of animation with cloth alone. I was thinking of trying to rig some control objects with IK and connecting a cloth to them with belt tags perhaps? But I suspect even that wouldn't be good enough.
  6. Hi, does anyone have any advice or examples for rigging a cloaked character? I'd like to animate a full range of batman style dramatic actions and poses, preferably with the ability to use both standard animation and dynamic IK/cloth sim. For example, having the character hold the cloak over their face while the rest of it flaps about in the wind. I'm not really sure where to start with this so any advice would be appreciated. Even just a screenshot of someone else's setup would be helpful. Thanks.
  7. I've been given some specific models to animate so, as much as I'd like to use something else, I'm stuck with them! No zbrush or 3dcoat either. Luckily the models are pretty low poly. I didn't know about the project option, I'll try that thanks!

I've got some un rigged character models in various poses that I need to animate (think similar to the c4d content browser human models), and I can't figure out if it's better to point edit them back into a neutral pose first or just try and fit a skeleton to the current pose. How would you approach this?
  9. Hi, I'm using puzzle mattes from redshift, and overlapping transparent edges are not adding up to 100% in AE. I'm sure there must be something simple I've missed. Can anyone help?
