  1. Not to hijack this conversation, but... The new User Mode feature is soooo great. This feature really changed my workflow. When working with a lot of animated assets you can really define what you want to animate. Sorry for the useless post, I'm a very enthusiastic about this. I will let myself out. 😁
  2. I was just gonna reply but you beat me to it 😂
  3. Sooooo, anyone want to talk about the little hidden features they found in s24? What got my by surprise are the new Redshift settings. With the automatic sampling finally out of experimental mode 🙂
  4. Aah I see, very clear explanation. Thanks Srek!
  5. Question about the new Scene manager... I know it's a tech preview but can I use it for real projects. What are the limitations?
  6. While you guys are arguing I'm having a total blast with those place tools, wohoowww 🤘
  7. Well, I like the update. The UI changes is one to get used to, but I understand why it's changed. Also, all of my plugins and scripts are still working fine.
  8. Zak from IGoByZak also has some good ACES workflow tutorials for After Effects users. Also watch Part 2 for CG integration with Aces...
  9. Hi Matthias! Yes, I did some tests without the Wacom drivers with the tablet disconnected. But r23 still crashed and froze. Another user on this thread has some issues with an another brand tablet. MAXON support suggested to disable the 'Hi-Res Tablet' in the preferences. This worked in his case. At the moment I'm running Wacom driver (6.4.42.-2) without any problems but with Hi-Res Tablet disabled just to be sure. If C4D freeze, when you want to disable 'Hi-Res tablet', then you have remove/delete your preferences. Remember to make a backup of your plugins and library folder. Do I restart, disable the checkbox. Close C4D and put your Plugins and Library folder back.
  10. Ah that really sucks. Just to clarify, for your situation... In the Nvidia Control panel (like in the screenshot) all of the changes are bold?
  11. Scene nodes, Dynamics, Mograph refinement. Hopefully GPU enhancements.
  12. Hi everybody! Bob Joynt on the Greyscalegorrila slack let me share his solution for the ones who has crashes and freezes with Nvidia cards. So far so good for me, but I need to test it more. This is his solution... 1. Go to the Nvidia Control Panel and click on "manage 3D settings" then> click on Program settings 2. Go to ADD 3. Look for Cinema 4D. then click on Cinema 4D and it will add to the Nvidia program listings 4. If you look just below you will "select the preferred Graphics processor. drop down will give High performance Nvidia processor (this is not the case for all users, just go to step 5) 5. Look for power management mode in that drop down. Select Prefer maximum performance. Hit Apply 6. Look for Cuda GPU and select your GPU. Hit Apply 7. Look for next threaded optimization and select ON. Hit Apply 8. Go back to the Nvidia Control panel 9. Go to Set PhysX Configuration. Go to the drop down you add the monitor you use (In my situation the monitor was already selected) 10. Follow this procedure... https://docs.substance3d.com/spdoc/gpu-drivers-crash-with-long-computations-128745489.html 10. Restart machine. Bob stated that maybe you also have to do this for other software like After Effects. Bob also explains... There is the ongoing projection to correctness of Nvidia settings. Everyone gets mucking about in the Control Panel and once achieved to some type of settings and seems to work it gets put in stone shall we say and that's not correct. As I mentioned earlier that the Nvidia Control Panel has many settings and that due to Nvidia having aged cards and now state of the art it becomes an uphill battle to answer what is correct. That said working with the layout that we have implemented is pretty solid. Willem UPDATE: After a week of testing with no crashes I can confirm that this solved my problem. Besides that, this morning I installed (finally) a new Nvidia 3090. After installing a new clean studio driver and working with C4D r23 the application crashed and froze within 10 minutes of use. Because of the clean driver install I lost all the settings. I follow the procedure and everything is working after 8 hours of use.
  13. Well, this solution didn't work either. The first couple of days, zero crashes. As the project got bigger I experienced the same freezes and crashes today as before and R23 become unworkable again.
  14. I worked with R23 today without any crashes, and I pushed it really hard. Jonathan Wiley's post got me thinking I missed something with the Wacom solution, because Cinema stalled when I wanted to toggle my 'Hi-Res Tablet' off. So I deleted all of my preferences (backup my plugins and layout). Restarted Cinema, put the plugins and lay-outs back in, toggled 'High-Res tablet' off. So far so good. Could be a fluke. I will let you know how it goes in the coming days.
  15. I was wondering, I'm using a Wacom myself no issues. But when I toggle Hi-res Tablet off in the preferences Cinema freezes. Maybe you could try that.
  16. That's great to hear. I always were a Mac user. Hopefully there will be some kind of desktop version this year.
  17. Hi Gazzamataz! I'm using a Geforce GTX 1080ti (. I upgraded to 3.0.39 this weekend. Still the same problem. Could be different than yours. My is usually, adding a object (like a simple cube) to my scene. The whole system halts for a while. After a minute or so Cinema crashes.
  18. I'm using the Studio Driver 461.40 with Redshift 3.0.37
  19. I hope MAXON can sort this out soon. Kind of annoying subscribing for software and got stuck on r21 or r22.
  20. haha yep, but your help is much appreciated anyhow. Thanks Igor!
