1Material blend between objects
No reason you couldn't make this work with a material blender and a combination of state, ramp and curvature nodes. You'd have to do it on a per-object basis (so not as slick as the one in Unreal) but it is doable. -

Thanks Hrvoje! I cannot believe that I did all this stuff nearly 20 years ago… I sometimes wonder if I should be re-vamping it considering there is so much kids orientated CGI out there, but I am finding it quite rewarding making it look much more up to date. I might even dabble with AI on it - or is that a dirty word? Still trying to figure out how to add a dirt map to the roof… -
