Thanks so much, I looked through the file but I was thinking a script that when run it would: Look at selected object store display color into variable search through project and select all objects that have the same display color. When I try and implement your xpresso rig it only works with objects directly inside the parent. I have scenes that have multiple objects in multiple parents. Thanks so much for the help.

I figure this has to be easy but I know very little about python. I get CAD files and most of the time specific objects are colored differently in the display tag. I'm trying to have a script look through object list and select objects that have similar color in their display color. How should I do this?
