  1. So coool. I have I have cartoon spider mode lying around somewhere. Let me know if you want it to complete your scene 🙂
  2. Exactly my sentiment. When I read the email that details that onerous "offer", I knew right there and then C4D management is off. My point, has been the same, and has never been CLEARLY rebutted: You can have your subscription. Fine. But don't alienate existing perpetual users. How are we alienated? No more MSA. Any upgrade is much more expensive (than the current subcription and the previous MSA) and no Cineversity. In terms of being rewarded for years of patronage, perpetual users are being punished. But again, its a moot point now. Not really invested in C4D that much, these days. Been using Houdini/Blender.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't this a given for some time? (like years ago already) Buy a BMD hardware, you get a BMD software (studio version for free). For both Resolve Studio and Fusion Studio?
  4. It's been several days old but I think still relevant. They are mostly known for the Next Gen Feature Film in Netflix. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/business/tangent-animation-shuts-down-with-up-to-400-people-laid-off-207637.html
  5. Use the younger brother: Snagit. Records image/video but no editing feature. It's reasonably priced. Been using it for roughly 5 years now. Works as expected.
  6. RE: Blender. If you buy add-on on a well known market site like blendermarket, a portion of your payment actually goes to the blender foundation. So, in a way its a win and win. The core developer and the add-on developer benefits.
  7. time and time again. its okay to introduce subscription option BUT WHY DISCRIMINATE THE PERPETUAL? There's little to no overhead in keeping both. What gives?
  8. @MighT I think he is referring to the still single threaded operation in C4D most notably the dynamics. To be honest, its a moot point for me. If someone is doing a "serious" FX shot. Just use Houdini.
  9. Not a direct answer but have you tried xParticles? With XP, infection is an easy default set-up. (Or you can also learn houdini) Thinking Particles have long been abandoned.
  10. S24? I thought everyone already agreed that "S" moniker was an uncalled for choice. Or was it just me? Now i have to explain (AGAIN) to the client that R23 is so outdated because later this year R25 is just released.
  11. A bit petty but I hope MAXON stop that useless "S" mark. Just call it R23.5 if you want to release midyear.
  12. Wow. I am late on this one because I only saw this one after relogin to the new website. It looks really good. How's the progress going?
  13. yep H4D will do. haha its very apt.
  14. ah yea yea sure sure. just post the discord link and I'll join 🙂
  15. @Igor Sure sure I don't mind I used discord on a daily basis. But if you want some decent inputs from working professional, the most effective way is join the in mographdotcom.slack.com there is a houdini channel in at slack. the best thing about it is they are all C4D users. So asking "this is how I want in C4D, how to do in houdini" would be a manageable question.
  16. @Igor I am. I somewhat use Houdini and Blender as a plug-in of some sort. My main assembly software is still C4D, for now. Houdini and Blender doesn't have a content browser. So you can't drag and drop assets to the a scene or save them to a library at ease. Although Blender is planned to have a content browser in 2.93. Supposed to be in 2.92 but got delayed.
  17. Looking forward to your Houdini explorations. Hope it sticks through. For me, the point of "no return" in Houdini was when I could randomize every clone object's parameter. In C4D, you are only limited to clone's PSR , correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. Looks good. Actually, find myself using Blender more in more these days. Couldn't completely migrate on the current project because Blender lacks a "content browser" equivalent. It is supposed to be in 2.92 but is moved to 2.93. Looking forward to that release!
  19. Interesting! Thanks for the effort @kbar. Always wanted to try out C++ but setting up the development always turns me off, you know unlike Python where it is just almost a plug-and-play.
  20. Not a direct answer but more of a disclaimer. PySide2 is not officially supported in Cinema4D. You might be able to make it work but it will probably through personal endeavor. There is no official documentation of it. And there is no known effort of being it implemented in the near future, probably never.
  21. This is an old script from Bret Bays in Cineversity. I guess it wouldn't hurt pasting it here for reference: It still works up to R21. Get Weight is the Copy Weights Set Weight is the Paste Weights cv_copy_weights.py cv_paste_weights.py
  22. Congrats to all those who participated! 🙂
  23. If there is a demand, there is a supply haha
  24. @jed Ah no. hehe I posted above the actual link. I found it 🙂
  25. Thanks for the response. I was able to find it! It was a really good work. It hyped me back then on learning new stuff.
