Haha i know i know... I've seen videos of R20. Very nice indeed. :)

I'm really having fun trying to come up with mini-projects for my instagram account. (Am I allowed to link that here?) I try to have something new almost every day, it keeps me on my toes and makes me creative. This time I tried to make something abstract with the mograph tools and good old metaballs. Add to that some volumetric fog and subsurface scattering with Octane and I'm lucky my computer didn't blow up...

Thanks! Yeah I love them too. There's one lying on my desk haha... The mesh has some thickness, but just a tiny bit, could have been more I guess. :)

My paper boat is afraid of heights... (rendered with Octane)

And we have a "let"! I scrapped my parking garage and was looking for ideas for the word "let", walking around the house until my gaze fell onto a clock. I thought hey I can do something with that... So I went to Turbo Squid (I'm not very into modeling things myself I admit, don't have the patience, the traffic light and light bulb are from Turbo Squid as well) and found this wonderful old fashioned clock. Adjusted it to make it look realistic enough (all materials had to be replaced for example) and now I've got this: I love Octane! It's like I just got myself a new camera with a bunch of really expensive lenses. And everything is sooooo fast... That little white ball is the light that goes through the entire animation, making things happen and revealing the words. My goal was to make the 4 scenes within 4 days, I've reached that goal. :) Now I can tweak and animate everything.

This will be the last shot, with the word "light" which I still need to add. I haven't shown the first shot yet, the one with the word "let", still working on that and might completely change my mind about what I want it to be. Right now it's a parking garage, but I might scrap that and do something completely different. Something more close-up, like this one.

I know, real die-hards don't read manuals of course. ;) And I've just replaced the renders with slightly brighter versions in my original posts, my screen wasn't calibrated and when I looked at them on a different screen they were way too dark. Hope they're not way too bright now...

Hmm, once I get more familiarized with everything and not just pushing buttons randomly until it looks pretty I might. ;) Reading the Octane manual at the moment... So much to learn!
