  1. Hi everybody,

is it possible to have back this "window" in R25 to move the current view on a certain frame!? I cannot find it in customization menu.

And I was wondering if existing in the customization settings something that assign at the scroll of the mouse wheel a movement of 15frames and not just 1.

    Thank you in advance..

  2. Thank you Voidium and sorry for my late reply, has been a busy period!!

I read that Redshift doesn't support more than 8 GPUs so 1 rack should be enough ( https://www.asus.com/Commercial-Servers-Workstations/ESC4000_G3S/ something similar)

Anyway my main question is how my computer and this server do communicate?! by team render? this means that I will have to pay a Cinema4D and Redshift subscription only to be used as team render!?

And not least how I decide the other component?! CPU type, n. of CPU,  RAM, PSU, etc

I would give my chief an idea of cost for this internal render farm (excluding the GPUs), is there some site or specialist that could help me?!

  3. Hi everybody,

my company wants to realize a sort of internal "render farm" because we need a lot of computing power.

In the next week,we will ask our IT manager, but this guy always tries to sell us expensive stuff also when are not needed, so I would like to arrive prepared with some ideas in my mind.

We use Redshift as a render engine.
    Following the question:
1- Does redshift support multi GPU (more than 3 of course)?
2- Does C4D support multi GPU (more than 3 of course)?
3- How C4D and Redshift do communicate with this server/rack?

4- The server/rack how should be composed? (at the moment I can only image a big computer with a big motherboard and 10/15 GPUs plugged in )

At the moment we have 2 workstation; one with 2 Titan RTX, the other have 3 Geforce 2080. Not so bad, but my company wants to invest....so...

At the moment we don't have a budget but the investment could be of about 10/15K, and every 1/2 months add 1 extra GPU

Is there someone experienced in this?
I don't have a big knowledge in IT, someone could give me some "macro" info?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Thanks for your reply, Igor.

At the moment I can't, the scene contains some confidential information.

The strange is that if I make an animated cube and I render it, the renders come out!

It could be that the scene has been made in R21?
I tried also to merge it in a new scene but nothing...

  5. Hi,
how can I get render in S22 with the old OPEN GL engine?
I supposed that has been replaced by “viewport render” but, if I set the render settings, I always have black frames
If I use R21 with the same file the render comes out perfect, as always.

Something has changed, could someone help me?

    Thanks.

  6. mmmh...it doesn't work, probably I'm the problem, I don't have a deep knowledge..

Anyway, you will command the animation, not the growth parameter (obviously the final result it's the same) right?!

Just out for cutriosity, is there a way to command the growth parameter using a linear field?

Could I ask you to do the model for me when you have the possibility?!

    Thanks!

  7. Here the reply from MAXON:

Remote Desktop cannot be used with applications like Cinema 4D or most games as they are using OpenGL.
Remote Desktop does not use the graphiccard from the computer, so no OpenGL and graphicrelated parts can be seen or used.
The only known Remotesoftware using OpenGL and can work with such programs would be this one:
    https://www8.hp.com/us/en/workstations/zcentral-remote-boost.html

TeamViewer works a different way, as it just streams what is happening on the other machine, so you can even see the viewport and everything else correctly.

The most easy and recommended way, would be to install Cinema 4D on your local machine and just transfer rendered data or scenes.

The problem should be that the OpenGL Driver doesn't start, now I ask you, is there a way to run OpenGL driver independently at the launch of C4D?

  8. Thanks for your reply, so how could I manage the materials!? I mean, usually, in our model we have 3 paint colour: blue, red and white. Have I to create one material for each element the needs transparency!? Because it could be that I need the effect in different moments of the animation.

Or is there a  way to "modify" the single material tag assigned at the element??

How would you work to get this effect??

And what about the display tag??

    Many thanks!!!

  9. Hi everybody!

I'm looking for a suggestion to realize the transparency effect like this video (min 1:25)

I've tried with the display tag (image.png.074ffbfe8e2683484cff6c1ffbc3f8a2.png ) but ther're some issue.

It's seems that depend forom the number of object in front of the non-transparent parts. It coul be?

    What do you think?
    I'm using redshift.

Are there other way to realize it?
I don't want to use the opacity in the material options because i I think that would be very hard to handle.

In attached a small 3d model.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi everybody,
I'm trying to animate a cable wrapped on a cable reel. (example shorturl.at/ewGJ4 )
I've used the dynamic spline but when I try to move the Null1 (please see the file) the cable doesn't follow correctly the point (Null1).

The Null1 will move on the Z axis,

Is there a way to fix it??

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions!

Edit: Of course the model is a sample of my case! unfortunately I don't have the permission to post our project! Thanks!
