  1. Hi everyone I've hit a wall in rigging this character. My goal is to bind a 'circulatory system' to the Body character mesh, like veins and arteries etc. so they all move in tandem but the internal parts are not correctly bound to the Body. As you can see from the video the veins are offset when I move the arm. I used the Character Object (Mixamo Control Rig) to rig the Body so I can apply Mixamo animations to it later. In the Character Object, the Body and Veins are included in the binding, so it feels like I've missed a step somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 1947971656_2023-07-1412-28-01.mp4
  2. Hi guys I've been trying to bind a custom mesh to a Mixamo animation in Cinema4D 2023 but it's not working at all. The mesh is comprised of several layers. I took the main 'skin' layer to Mixamo then put it back in C4D so it would have a Mixamo skeleton consistent with the Mixamo Character Object. That's where things got messy. I have 3 different files now because it sort of worked then didn't so now I have 3 different scenarios to try and make it work and I have no idea what worked and didn't work. It all started when I followed this tutorial but my mesh was not binding at all: Here's a Dropbox link as the files are too large to share here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/vfy4lnabl1htdk50lgsk9/h?dl=0&rlkey=ist30zqzjyuhhofk1zlh1d7dg Rig-CharacterObject - the Character Object binds to the Mixamo mocap but doesn't move RIG-WorkingMesh - Same as above, minus the Character Object. The Mixamo Mesh moves with its animation but I can't bind the custom mesh to it. RIG-CharacterObjectWorks - The character object and mesh successfully bind to my custom mocap (exported from Brekel Body v3) but I can't bind the other parts to it. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Cinema 4D 2023 Was used to create the Alembic. Exported to Unreal 5.2. Unfortunately my file is too large to share here. I believe it was from "Bake as Alembic". I'll try again at some point just to make sure, thank you.
  4. Hi guys, I’ve hit a wall in learning retargeting. I’m attempting to retarget a mocap FBX animation (recorded from Brekel Body with Mixamo settings) to a MixamoT-Pose mesh (downloaded from Mixamo with Skin) in Cinema 4D. The mocap FBX appears to have more joints than the Manager tab of Character Definition. When I press Play the Mixamo mesh and bones barely move. I also created a Mixamo Character Object and that successfully appends to the mocap FBX. Is there a way to just bind my mesh to the mocap FBX? The Character Definition route does not appear to work. I’m using the latest Cinema 4D 2023. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi everyone I've hit a wall importing Alembic files from C4D into UE5. The animation doesn't play at all, they're just stuck on the first frame! Any advice on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi everyone I've been having trouble uploading my model correctly from C4D 2023 to Mixamo. Two things happen: only part of the model appears (the head) and sometimes the model appears without textures. My goal is to successfully upload the entire character with textures/colors to Mixamo. This happens on both OBJ and FBX exports on Default settings. I've tried baking in the materials and having all objects in a null but I'm still getting the same results when uploading. The head usually uploads with colors intact for some reason, which leads me to think that there is an issue with the model itself and I'm not seeing it. Any advice or nudge in the right direction would be most appreciated. I've attached the project file as a .Zip for reference. Thank you Mickey.zip
