I've been told this is done using the Inheritance Effector...
A quick search in YouTube revealed this :Hi, thank you for your reply. This looks like a good solution. I have never worked with the inheritance effector but if I will try to understand his workflow ... in German

Hi, I have a basic understanding about animation and pivot points.
I'm wondering if it is possible to animate a Rubiks cube in more directions. As you can see on the screenshot it's made out of 3 levels, so it's ease to rotate around the pivot point of each level.
What if for example 9 cubes on the right side need to rotate around the X axis where I don't have a pivot point.
I tried to select the cubes and made an animation with keyframes, but they don't rotate around the middle. They do change place but without the correct rotation.
Maybe it's a simple solution but I don't see it at the moment

Follow up:
Uninstalling and re-installing wasn't enough to fix the issue. I had to remove first all traces of S26 from the PC then re-install, as suggested by Sandro from MAXON.
I had the same problem, but it worked with an uninstall of R26 and deleting the folder "Maxon Cinema 4D R26" after the uninstall. No need to uninstall the Maxon app.
