  1. I've animated a few cameras in Cinema 4D with only nulls and morph camera, instead of the camera itself. I noticed that the keyframes are not imported from the cameras parented to nulls, if I import cameras from C4D project with Cineware. How do I get these cameras into after effects with correct animation?
  2. Thank you guys so much! Looks like I've got to turn off the animated displacement or cache it. When trying to learn new software like C4D, it's small things like this that just makes it such a struggle to master 3D. It's a headache to figure out. So happy for the help. Much easier to work now! I'll keep in mind about using render/multi instances and simplifying the effects in the viewport as well.
  3. It says 318 objects... but we're up in 1699274 ploys But disabling the displacements map seemed to make a big difference! About 10 frames more! I use it for the water, and also for the soil that fills up. I'll use bump map instead! Maybe I could also cache/bake it?
  4. Thanks for the suggestions! @Hrvoje Preferably not upload it here, but I could PM it for those who want to check it out! Let me know. @HappyPolygon My main issue is the frame rate in the viewport, especially when I'm trying to animate. I had a tough time getting the timing right with a voice-over because of it. Turning off 'All Frames' in the playback helped, but I'd stillprefer a smooth viewport. It would just make focusing on animation so much easier. I tried disabling all the viewport options so that I only have a clay view of the scene. It helped a little, maybe 2 frames extra. @Jeff H1 I'm cloning the plants with a cloner object, where the Instance Mode is set to Multi-Instance. I tried deleting the plants as well, but it didn't make much of a big difference....
  5. Hi everyone, I'm currently facing a issue while working in Cinema 4D. Despite having a reasonably good computer setup (both CPU and GPU), I'm experiencing extremely low frame rates—around 10-12fps—on a scene that I would consider to be quite basic. Attaching screenshots of the scene setup: I have modeled a building with some basic CAD models that i've cloned. I've also implemented a simple planar displacement map to simulate water and added some flower models in the boxes. Furthermore, I have used three basic booleans in the scene but checked off high quality. Overall, the scene length is around 4200 frames. Does anyone have insights into why I'm experiencing this low frame rate and any suggestions for improvement? How do people work efficiently on more complex scenes if even my basic scene is causing performance issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Thank you Jeff! Xparticles looks like the right solution for now. I managed to get it setup in the scene! I'm currently uncertain about the best approach for material and rendering settings to achieve a rainy effect. I've chosen a water material with transmission properties and applied an RS tag to the xpEmitter, selecting 'Optimized Spheres' in the particle modes. Does anyone have suggestions for making it look more like rain? Would adding motion blur to the particles in post-production help, or should I consider using a shape other than spheres?"
  7. Thank you, very interesting! I forgot to mention that I'm working on this project in Redshift renderer. But I'll look into this.
  8. Hi! I've never done any rain in 3D. I wanna add some heavy rain to my scene and make it look realistic/good without waiting ages for it to render. I'm thinking of using Trapcode Particular after pulling the camera data from C4D into AE. I also want the rain's to hit the ground and not just fall through the ground, preferably with splashes. Also some water ripples in the water. Anyone got tips or trick for how to solve this? I was hoping to not use particular, as it might not look as realistic, or? I would love to get it super realistic like rain sliding down slanted glass and making real-life ripples in the water. But that might be to ambitious to do without diving deep into Houdini or something. Thoughts? Attaching still of the scene
  9. Thank you! It's good to know that I'm not completely off track my workflow in C4D. My end goal is to be able to easily see which keyframes is connected to which part of the animation. I see that I can name tags such as spline as well so it's easier to see what they do in the timeline. I wasn't fully aware one could automatically drag and drop from the object manager into the dopesheet. Again, thank you for the reply!
  10. Hi, I'm animating a 2-min animation in Cinema 4D, with a voice over in the backround. I'm finding it challenging to re-time the animation if I have a new voice over, or just tweaking the animation in general. Some section overlap. So since I'm not so experienced animating in C4D, I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions to my animation workflow? Is it bad practice to animate all the 2 minutes in one projects/sequence? Are there other ways to make it easier to retime and move keyframes? Should I use takes instead? I use both dope sheet and f-curve mode. I have used colored markers on the timeline to segment the animation (e.g., frames 0-500 for the intro). In the Dope Sheet, I mostly just see a clutter of squares, making it hard to discern which keyframes belong to which objects. My current workflow involves adjusting the keyframes in the dope sheet, but this feels still very cluttrered. Attaching image of my timeline Coming from After Effects, it doesnt feel so easy to organize all the objects and layers in C4D. I'd appreciate any advice or techniques you can share to help streamline the process of re-timing my animation in C4D. Are there any tools, plugins, or methods I might be overlooking that can help make this process more manageable? Thank you in advance for your insights!
  11. Thank you Lubo! That worked!! I'll keep these techniques in mind with further modelling!
  12. Thank you so much for the reply! I've updated my profile. I'm using Cinema 4D S26 newest version. 🙂 I tried zero scaling the bottom polygons on Y, but didn't get the same results for some reason. Cloth SDS seemed to work, but then it started bulging some corners. Bulging is checked off. Never tried/heard about Cloth SDS before, so it's nice to know about it ! 13. Hi! First post here. I've made the main shape of my model and want to extrude it. That way I can give it thickness/volume and bevel edges. However when I extrude it, some polygons extrude unevenly. It creates non-planar polygons. I've uploaded video of it here: https://imgur.com/a/NdEi9Sv Attaching an fbx here. I've experimented with Offset Variation and maximum Angle in C4D extrude tool. This is something that often stops me from getting further with modelling, so any help much appreciated.
