  1. Thanks for the resources. Yea I do use Blender and Houdini. No problem with jumping into software to do some tasks. But since this is just really a minor thing and not totally a niche task, this should be built in in C4D. I guess get/set texel density algorithm is much more complicated than Pyro 😉

  4. Oh. I forgot we are talking about Cinema4D and not Houdini. For context, that's how big sims are made. You sim on a proxy then apply the transform on the actual object. I guess the easiest way to do it in Cinema4D is through the "Collission" Another Object option. This is in my old R21. Can't vouch if still the same thing in the newer versions.
  5. Hi, Just want to confirm if C4D still doesn't have a Texel Density Get/Set Function? I'm opening it now but I couldn't see any. Am I missing something?

  7. RE: mesh are quite heavy. You can use just proxy objects. You don't simulate on heavy objects. You use proxy then apply the transforms on heavy objects.
  8. Ah found a way to it. Need to drag "bitmap" node. Not too obvious since there's no bitmap heading. Here is an illustration: file_parameter_fix.mp4
  9. You can just use joints (to position and animate) those necklace. Or if you want to take into account the actual collission shape, use RBD. Much realistic but have lesser artistic freedom compared to joints. Do you have a sample on what a necklace animation you would like?
  10. Hi, Is there a way to drag the File Parameter in Expresso? I can drag the parent (i.e. Texture) but I can't drag the File Parameter itself. See illustration below for reference: file_parameter.mp4

  13. So probably, I'm late on the news (as I'm no longer a C4D constant these days due to them removing perpetual option lol). But I do remember Paul Babb and his involvement all throughout the years. Not sure what's the reason for leaving but I can only surmise it has something to do with management as Paul is currently looking for another job (i.e. not retiring). Anyway cheers to Paul for all his hardwork and putting C4D in his best interest, all throughout the years.
  14. @Cerbera Thanks for the response. Can confirm the simulation scene object works. But I guess such alternative option is not present in older versions like R21.
  15. Hi, Just wondering is there like a world wide enable/disable of simulation in C4D like Houdini. I check the simulation tab (Ctrl+D) but no options there. Am I missing something or it's not possible in C4D? P.S. Writing a script on turning it off globally on all tags is also not feasible since I already animated some of the "Enabled" parameter in the dynamic tags.

  18. Thanks for the response. Ah yea, it turns out the GLB/GLTF format always convert it to be tris. There's no way around it. The untriangulate is a hit and miss since some DCC have a slightly different way of triangulating objects. Anyway, I'll just live with it. lol
  19. Slr. Yea. I tried clearing, using different browsers and also in incognito mode. I still don't see it. Is your search bar from a third party service prodiver? Sometimes my IP bans some websites. Anyway, no worries. The problem is on my side.

  21. Hi, For some reason, whenever I export a geo/mesh in GLTF/GLB format, it always triangulate the mesh. I tried importing the file in Blender, C4D and Maya. All triangulated. There seems to be no option in the C4D Export Dialog but I could be wrong. Regards, Ben

  23. Hi @Hrvoje Thanks for the feedback! I tried R21, R25 and 2023 versions. I thought I have the latest version 2023. Tried 2024. And it does work as expected compared to other versions. Thanks again!
  24. Hi, I am unable to export a hierarchy of nulls from C4D I thought this was a bug but I got the same behavior on the old C4D (R21) and on newer versions. I already tried various exporting options (2016 and above, as ASCII or not, etc) Just wondering what is the explanation to this. See illustration file for reference. null_hierarchy_export.c4d
