My main PC is about 7 years old and in Windows and never crashed. So it depends, I got it installed by some nice guys and never saw the blue screen. And I am using it heavily...rendering, millions and millions of polygons, compositing...and I don't want even to preinstall it...I just copy the windows drive to other ssd and this is how I change my main hdd...also got Acer Nitro 17" with 4k screen and also never got the blue screen even it is getting very hot when using Redshift on it...

how are the render times. I am so used to the fast Redshift...

I know your pain. It is really that softwares companies are so into politics even with destructive movements that are closer to some...things in the past. I also think if you build something and at one point the political correctness crowd doesn't like you - it is good not to be unplugged, so Blender is good option. I am thinking about this... Blender for me is complete piece of wood compared to C4d, but when I see what the users are doing...maybe it worth digging into it. Now Upwork cut out Russia, which is just so strange.... I know that people in the forum hates politics, but politics love us and no matter what we want we are part of it...

You just described how China works. And this is actually happening + the whole monitoring and rating system and if you don't like you government, or you are jughurs or something like this - yes this is what is happening right now and the last 50 years, but you know.... This is just a cultural difference. Even if it is genocide...this is the hypocrisy. Also a lot of people doesn't understand the difference between Stalin and Putin. And there is. Putin has a messianic syndrome - like they are empire, like the old days before the bolshevism. He wants his puppets in Ukraine like in Belarus. But who doesn't do this? I am speaking to you USA. Stalinism or the bolshevism is completely different. My country has like 50 years communism and 30 years of comunist mafia that run the government. So I know what I am talking. The problem is that now the western societies are acting like bolshevism, while putin is from the old breed dictators. He will shoot you if you want to govern or be in the elections. the western society will just cancel you from the society - block you bank account, discredit you and you do whatever you want... For example the protests in the democracy countries are always not good, while in Russia are "the people fighting for their freedom"...I personally support both - the protesters in democratic countries as well in Russia against putin.

I just don't see how usb stick with Blender would prevent WWIII...I think this is too naïve. Big countries with nukes are like empires, they just are like war machines and if we see in Russia, the only historical event that Russians took off their leaders was to create even worst dictatorship (bolshevik revolution). And don't think the Russians will use DVDs...there are a lot of torrents with any serial or show. And this will even encourage the piracy, but won't change the leaders with messianic complexes...And I think instead of this economic restrictions that are like putting gasoline in the fire, world leaders should unite and do whatever they can for peaceful negotiations, seizing fire and start talking. Because if we get to the point of single nuke (not by Foundry) released this precedent will unleash for every future tension threat of nuking the planet...

Sorry but I don't see any real change in no war direction by Maxon's move. It is like the simulation of doing anything for good sleep although your move do nothing to help the people in war. As someone points, it would be better to send real money, drugs, clothes or help people to get out of the war zone. And yes...I know more than one nuclear power that bomb other countries...this is the sad reality we live in....

These are my thoughts about the Maxon mixing politics with business and following the masses. The war in Ukraine is totally wrong but expected, so many experts were saying it, also the tension that was building there is not over night but for long years. So this is a war machine - once it runs it needs a lot diplomacy to be stopped. I am not from Russia, I don't like Putin, my country have had a lot of problems because of the Russian politics and I honestly hate the Russian politics as one of our politics in the past (in the year 1887) said once: I love Russian art and culture but I hate Russian politics. So I really hate Russian politics and the messianic syndrome that Putin has. But the problem is more complex and the easy bad guy like in the US movies is almost always not the case in real life. My concerns in the Maxon decision to bad C4D in Russia makes me think about the future of software and is it worth it to buy a software that at one point for example, if my country's government can decide some things - good or bad, I can be banned for this and my business stopped? Or even individuals - if you support these ideas and culture - you can be banned. And we see this cancel culture spreading very wildly. I will explain why their decision for Russia is either stupid or misinformed. I would love to see Maxon fight for non violence and ban China because of genocide of the Uyghurs? Or the bombing between Israel and Palestine and vice versa? Or any war conflicts now and there are a lot of them, but because they are not in Europe they are not worthy and the victims there maybe are not valid? Going in such direction is very bad for the future of software, because you don't know when you can be pointed as the new public enemy. For example is it worth to buy licenses for my studio if it can be shut down for something beyond our scope? I think the Cinema 4D CEO's must use their brain more often...punishing artists is not good.

I hope Maxon doesn't touch Zbrush UI. It is perfect!!! So easy. If you haven't worked enough in Zbrush just sculpt with c4d clumsy sculpting. Of course c4d sculpting is great for animation and adjusting the model...

My feelings are that maybe Zbrush needed some money....and they joined...I think there should be easy bridges between softwares but they should be separate. There can not be ZBrushCinema4D it will be weak...

I tried to explain to my daughter (7 y old) what are all the c4d passions about every release and she said: "so all of you are searching for the perfect brush to draw but never draw...". S4D is perfect for me, Blender is...there is no logic there, improvement but to do work and get paid needs workflow. Some people can do ...I love Cinema and I will def buy this version, I think C4D should slow all. Let make a release in 2 years but with more stuff. People will save money and buy it.

I don't have any problems with the new look, I actually like it and will help me a lot...my problem is that the software become more and more expensive...of course...this is maybe...because all the industry. The big complaining about features...so with every ear update all the "new" things will look more and more like adobe. Just feature here and there...I think this is common problem for everything. My main problem - with RS only subs, more than 1000 euro per year is closer to autodesk I think.

Anyone Redshift 3d? Or Cinema 4D + Redshift subscribtion?...no news..:-(

And I hope they will be generous...30 years is good number, but 40 and 50 for discounts are even better :D...

When I open Blender, all the navigation and stuff make me feel I got into LADA car (it is old soviet cars)it can drive you in every place but in the most uncomfortable way, when I use Maya, I feel like I am driving Alpha Romeo - beautiful but it breaks every 10 km., when I use 3Ds Max (my first 3d app) I am feeling I am in a tank - I have 2 handles for everything, when I use Houdini...well like I am in CERN, I am accelerating particles to make a cube, and I accidentally make a hypertorus packed with monkeys, which are consumed by the black hole that also accidentally appeared...I end up making the cube with real paper from the garbage in the post apocalypse world that I have created. when I use Nuke - I am using BMW, cool but too expensive and in the winter you don't go out with it... and when I use Cinema 4D - I am in a AUDI! Feels good and takes you where you want to go! The grass is not always greener on the other side!

Yes, I forgot to mention Houdini. Looks great...but I am not sure about artists' perspective when you need to create fast stuff...I am also tired of constantly learning new software...to learn the same thing for example in Blender.

Well...I read all this, eating popcorn (of course just kiddin')... I think this is the way all the industry is heading not that groundbreaking updates...see Nuke - not that new stuff, you have to pay for maintenance...bug fixing...Autodesk's products....also not that much happening. Maybe the only 3D program with a lot of happening is Blender, it has some new energy. I think Cinema also need some new energy...

Hi, guys...Here is also basic test with Redshift...just the marble preset of the SSS material...But I really like it!...The second one is a try in Mental Ray SSS in 3Ds max...I prefer the Redshift in Cinema...Really like it but I need to start digging into it and create more complex shaders....
