Checked the Manual, probs should have started there.
I'm guessing that this type of effecter use comes under animated deformer, If I'm wrong let me know but I think its back to the old way for now.
Update I can do something similar with soft body sims as long as the follow shape is enabled in the mix animation.

Hi thanks for the reply, sorry for the confusion but the screen shot is running the bullet tag, if you swap it out for the sim tag on the null does it work for you.

Hi I am sure this is a very simple solve.
I have previously done this kind of simulation with Bullet and mograph but it doesn't seem to work with Sim, am I missing something or is this the norm with Simulation ridged body?
