  1. Very Cool, IGOR. Now I see why a lot of motion designers are switching over to Houdini...it's like mograph on steroids! I installed the Apprentice version last year to experiment with the grain solver...I think it is time for a revisit. Will you be giving us your opinion of Mantra?
  2. Looks really good! Are you going to rig it too? 😉
  3. Same here. I've moved all my production renders to Blender and couldn't be happier. Even my clients noticed the difference in quality using cycles (and I don't have to "rent" a 3rd party render engine!). With the passing of each day C4D becomes less relevant in my workflow...in a way, this makes me sad.
  4. Yup, I felt the same way too. Then business dropped off and I realized how expensive it really was.
  5. My understanding is that it's perpetual. You don't have to subscribe to it. You only get updates for a year but then you own that version forever. This will most likely be the last year.
  6. If you upgrade Substance Painter from Steam you can save 53% on the 2021 perpetual version. Offer ends January 26.
  7. Totally agree with this statement. We made the mistake of using R23 on a project that relied heavily on the new UV tools and the results were disastrous. Had to move back to R20 to finish the job but wasted 2 days in the process. From my experience this is the worst release in the 13+ years I've been using the software.
  8. You can still buy a perpetual license on Steam and it usually goes on sale during the holidays for around $75.
  9. Imagine that. A company that removes features/functionality and does not tell its users about it. Hmm...I wonder who that sounds like? 😁

Lol, really? I must be doing something right 😀
  11. I saw this on Reddit yesterday; What about non-subscription users? This update is for both Subscription users (who can download it tomorrow if you have an active subscription) and R21 Perpetual licence holders who can upgrade to it for a $1000 USD upgrade fee. MAXON is unveiling a new single subscription Bundle that includes Cinema4D R23, Redshift and Red Giant Complete for $1,200 USD per year. Not a bad deal, you save about $400 USD getting the bundle over getting each product separately.
  12. Hi Shrike, Thank you for this link! My asset creation workflow has changed a lot over the last few years and I find myself spending less time in C4D. Hopefully I will learn a few techniques to bring it back in. I agree that there are not many resources available and dealing with UV/normal/phong tag issues can be a challenge.
  13. Everything works again. Thank you Igor!
  14. Same thing here in Win 10 using Chrome or Firefox. I see the attached image and not the yellow bar. Brave is the only browser that is usable for me on this site.
  15. Yup, I watched the same webinar and was blown away by the real time raytracing in Unreal Engine. I also know of several studios that are switching over to this render workflow and their results look amazing. And now that my favorite render engine Octane is available for UE, I too am excited to see what the future will bring.
  16. I've had success removing shading errors in SP with this Vertex Normal Tool.
  17. I highly recommend the tutorials from FlippedNormals especially if you use Substance Painter in your workflow.
  18. I think this refers to the "renewal" process and not your existing MSA. Be sure to read the small print 😕
  19. If you have an auto-renew MSA and you do not cancel it then I believe you still have to pay.
  20. In the "Object" tab of your emitter change the shape to object and change "Emit From" to edges. After reading your original post I think I misunderstood your question...so how about converting the edges of your object to a spline and using xpFollowSpline?
