  1. Hi How can I seperate dome light background from objects for compositing? im using AOVs , will the crypto matte do it? Essentially objects with alpha but don't want to render twice. thanks
  2. Hi, I cached a particle sim using cache object. Should I use cache scene? There are other emitters etc going on. I want to be able t o edit some of the particles. How do I do this? Thanks
  3. It was a C4D , Redshift version problem. I updated all. Problem fixed.
  4. Hi, Ive added a RS tag to my emitter to change the parameters of the particles/ use custom particles but the Particle tab is missing. Ive also tried it om Particle Group. Im using C4D 2024.5 What am I missing?!
  5. No, but I was able to turn it off on the light itself in attributes. It was greyed out option which was why I was confused but then realised I was in Takes which I must have hit by accident. Thanks.
  6. Hi How do I stop the RS lights from being rendered but still have them casting light on my objects? I have a black bird flying in dim lighting, I just want to render the bird with alpha- how can I do this? Many thanks
  7. Hi Help. Im new to multi pass rendering and I didn't choose location to save multiples image in render settings. (not the smartest) My render took 2 days so I don't want to do it again. I can see the passes in picture viewer history, depth , shadows etc. how can I retrieve that information? Thanks

  9. Hi I would like to make a kind of sandstone relief from an image so it looks like a kind of relief sculpture from a building. Does anyone know ways I can do this? Ive been creating height maps and displacing material and projecting the material but the projection part is tricky and time consuming to match up if its not a cube. Thanks

  11. Hi, Pyro stops generating after 90 frames. but in redshift render view the pyro scene is fine through all frames. I have a simulation scene object and I've changed the pyro scene time to 200 and I've change date project settings time to 200 too. Ive changed pyro settings to export (just density ) that's all I need for smoke. Can anyone help?

  16. Hi How do you add bezier handles on a spline point in mospline profile spline. I can only create a tangent on one side for some reason. Thanks
  17. Go to the volume material and there is a slot for density or scatter. On the right from the presets (small arrow) choose volume builder. This sets the volume builder volume as the density of your volumetric effect. Very important step I was missing this. Thanks!
  18. Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to solve this for days. I have exported my vol builder animation as VDB but when I add to RS volume I only ever see the bounding box. This is in 'signed distance field' mode. What am I doing wrong? Strangely When I export in 'fog' mode as vdb i see the object animating , when I put in RS volume and add volume material tag howeverI dont see anything in RS renderview. what am I doing wrong in this instance? Ive tried putting it in a volume mesher and nothing. Thanks
  19. Thanks. Im actually on PC. It turned out i had to reset c4d . All my paths had been broken.
  20. I have done that. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled everything. And been onto Norton to disable to see if its stopping connection. Which it isnt. This is my error message.

  22. Hi, Ive created a feather with the feather object and I would like to clone it. Is it possible to turn the feather into geometry so its just one object that I can clone? Iv tried exporting as .obj but it doesn't see the spline/hairs. Thanks
  23. Hi, when I import FBX to C4d , the object is huge. So I scale it down and put in cloner but everything shrinks tiny. How van I fix this? Ive thrown in a normal cube for scale context. Thanks
