  1. Thanks everyone. Maxon got back to me today with links to downlaod, plus PDFs of my license files. I am very happy. Just one thing puzzled me. Check out the tiny size of the R20 file compared to R18 and R19. I'm guessing maybe R20 has no additional content folder of scenes, but the others probably do. I'll have to install to see properly. Is that the same for you guys ? Thanks again. 🙂
  2. I spent four figures on perpetual R17, upgraded to R18, R19, R20, and figured I would wait for that rainy day/year where I would learn and digest it all. This opportunity finally came after such a long wait so I tried to log on, only to discover they pulled the site and took down all licenses and software. Gulp. 😢 The error message did invite sending a support ticket, which I did two day ago, but no reply yet. Maxon UK will not answer the phone. Did anyone else experience this ? Can anyone offer any advice please (apart from me being very silly for not backing up - I just wasn't expecting the site to go down without notice 🙂 ) ?
  3. Hello Rectro, I saw on YT you mentioned that dynamics are quite hard to get predictable results with Ornatrix compared to 4D. Is that still the case ?
  4. Hello, I was lucky enough to aquire an legal set of 4D from an ex-user and it consisted of version 8, then upgrades of 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10 up to 11. There were official MAXON letters for 10 and 11, but no paperwork or serials for the 8 or 9 versions. Is it worth me begging MAXON for them (ie does anyone think the information will still exist) ? The seller said just to use the later versions, but I'm not very experienced and would really like the tutorials to match the particular versions. I am in the UK, but I assume the serial number information records will be somewhere in MAXON HQ Germany ? Many thanks.
  5. One thing is confusing me very much. I have Perpetual R20 and keep reading that Perpetual R21 will be offered, but I do not understand how in any way it can be called Perpetual if it requires an online login and needs to check that every 14 days. Perpetual what exactly ? This seems to me even an illegal description, or do I misunderstand something ?
  6. So an R21 perpetual license requires login and will occasionally check online ? That surely means perpetual only in the BS factor ? Someone tell me I'm wrong (as opposed to marketing the new system).
  7. Probably everyone knows that Allegorithmic is now joining with Adobe. On various forums I hear some people are saying that Adobe's next "logical acquisition" will be Cinema 4D, with a consequent end to perpetual licenses. I know nothing about these things so how do they reason that ? 4D seems perfectly strong on it's own and it would be sad if it fundamentally changed.
  8. Did any previous version of Cinema 4D ever import Carrara scenes please ?
