  1. I found some workaround solution here by using polygon selection tag fields driven by vertex map : But such simple extended polygon tag would be great too 🙂
  2. I found some dirty workaround to drive materials by vertex map applied to material alpha channel since newly created polygons have the same vertex map value that their parents. Unfortunately this is not visible in OGL preview. And these polygons must be disconnected since there is no vertex map sharpen tool. EDIT : I found complete solution - just use fields in polygon selection tag ! Move vertex map to fields window of selection tag and : EDIT 2 : If someone is interested there is much better solution to use with CV-Parametric Selection. Select polygon, find it index in structure panel, disconnect it and use the index in CV-Parametric Selection as index + post effect= connected. Output to Selection tag which is connected to any material. All new created polygons from the main polygon will have the same material. CV-Parametric script can be converted to Python3 version using this site : https://www.pythonconverter.com so it works with R23 too.
  3. Thank you for information. Such custom tag or plugin would be great because this is standard behavior in all other software and as I know there is no workaround in Cinema 4D. "Parent polygons" are of course polygons that we have selected before extruding/beveling etc.
  4. Hi, Polygon Selection Tag in Cinema doesn't respect newly created polygons from parent polygon which has this tag. Newly created polygon loosing this tag or it is not included in this tag. There are some problems because of it. For example : we want to using standard mesh tool like bevel or extrude on polygon that has selection tag ( or material driven by selection tag ). After using this tool newly created polygon loosing it material or selection tag : Standard Cinema behavior : What I mean : I have request to make plugin/script/tag to make newly created polygons respect their parent polygon selection polygon tag. Like it is in other software. Newly created polygon should be add to the selection tag automatically so we can select them all or their all have the same material.
  5. Because this is main workflow in arch-viz while working with big building and we want to using polygon selections to create details to many selections at once like extruded wall, window frames, windows which in another step should be divided to make additional frames etc. This workflow works in all other software but not in Cinema where selections and materials are connected not to polygons but tags and these tags are not respect newly created polygons from these ( parented ) tags.
  6. Yes I know but every time after using any mesh tool, newly created polygons have default material - not this one which was applied by selection tag. This behavior is completly different from other software. The only way is to split such polygons and treat them as new object with new main material right ?
  7. Hi, Is there way to automatically extend polygon selection tag to newly created geometry ? For example : using bevel or extrude tool on polygon that has applied material driven by selection tag makes the newly created polygon with different material than orginal ones.
  8. I'm selling MAXON Cinema 4D R21 perpetual licence. This is full lifetmie version ( studio ) - 2600$ . MAXON know about my sale and they approve it. Main guidelines for transfering licence and transfer form are here : License Transfer - MAXON There is licence transfer fee which I will pay. If you interested please e-mail me - smolak@atlantis-arts.com. We will contact with MAXON for transfering licence.
  9. Hi, Is there any way to display useful info like distance values while moving, extruding using Polygon Pen ? Just like it is while moving edges using Move tool.
  10. Thank you. The problem is that every time I apply the same material to other polygons there are new selection tags that are not cover all of the material but only last added polygons to it. It works totally different than in other softwares where you can add the same material to different polygons and you can select them all after that. In Cinema as I see there is no way for it without many clicking. There is even no command to merge all of the selection tags to one.
  11. Sorry but I probably use wrong word ( I was using other software 🙂 I mean material - select polygons of the same material that selected one.
  12. Hi, Is there fast way to select all polygons based on surface of selected one ? Select all polygons of the same surface etc. ? Maybe script ?
  13. Thank you all for information. I did it yesterday by User Data but "bezo" method is great too.
  14. Yes I mean HUD 🙂 Unfortunately for Result node there isn't any option available to display like XPresso values.
  15. Hi, Is there any way to display result of Xpresso Result node on the hub ?
  16. Hi, Is there any way to intersect or connect two single line splines like this : to make outline of them for example like this : And is there option to outline with two directions at once ( offset from outside and inside of main spline ) ? Or how to make simple "T" from two splines like this :
  17. Thank you ! Script works great but key shortcut not - it only change mode without transfering selection.
  18. I tried assigning shortcut with control qualifier but it doesn't work, anyway in R21
  19. Hi, Is there way to make key shortcut or script to transfer polygons selection to points ? Just like we do by pressing control key and point mode.
  20. Anyway thank you all for information. Maybe there is some official MAXON feature request form ? At the moment I'm using Octane Viewer as perspective viewport for such things 🙂
  21. I worked this way in LightWave for many years. In orthagonal views I had visible wireframes but they were much less visible than in Cinema. When object is zoomed out they are way too bold. They cover all visible object detail. There should be setting to make them less pronounced, more thin or transparent. In perspective view I had OGL view without visible polygons wires. So I can move selected polygons or use brush with falloff to edit them and in perspective view I see whole clear object without lines. In Cinema 4D there is no way to have orthagonal views with wires and perspective without them while editing in polygon mode. Example :
  22. Is there any way to hide these blue polygon edges, outlines while editing in polygon or point mode ? If I have dense geometry there is impossible to see anything while editing. I want to have clear view like it is in object mode or make these outlines less visible, transparent. Is this possible like it is in other software ? Maybe plugin ?
  23. Align selected points to last selected by axis X, Y or Z for example :
  24. Here is in Blender similiar option to lock view on selected objects :
