  1. So I'm deep into rigging a character model right now. I've got half of the mesh and torso all rigged up and ready to go, HOWEVER, I need to mirror the mesh now. When I select the mesh in its entirety, while in a point mode, the whole model rotates backwards 30+ degrees. I've tried some basic things like reorienting the axis and unfreezing coordinates, but I can't figure it out. Hoping for some guidance here. Attached is the project file. Thanks again for any insights into the issue here. WoW-Character-Rig_0019.c4d
  2. Ah thanks for the help! I appreciate it.
  3. I'm in the midst of rigging a character and after a few hours of making connections and building out some basic xpresso rigs, my viewport is now glitching out when I move the camera around... I'm not really sure where to even begin trouble shooting this, so any advice would be helpful! Currently it's not causing any issues outside of the viewport glitch, but I'm concerned it could lead to a corrupt file later down the road. I'm on a MacBook Pro 16" 2021 M1 Max Chip Memory 64GB Attached is the scene file. Thanks in advance! WoW-Character-Rig_0013.c4d
  4. Figured out my issue! My joints were locked so obviously nothing was able to move. 😕 There's so much to keep in mind when rigging, does anyone have a good recommendation for weight painting? I can't figure out how to delete a post so apologies for leaving this up.
  5. Just when I think I'm starting to get the hang of weight painting... I have a point on one of the fingers that is being influenced by the wrist by accident. There seems to be only two joints that the point is being influenced by -- the wrist joint and the finger joint. I've tried adding and subtracting the point from each joint, and can't seem to make it budge regardless of what I do. When I turn off auto normalize, I can remove the wrist's influence from the point, but I still can't add influence to the point (it's currently stuck around 75%). I guess my question is two parts... 1. What's causing my inability to influence that specific point 2. When should I be using auto normalize? Will going back over an area with auto normalize, normalize the weight if it's over 100%? I just can't wrap my head around the theory behind when to use what tool, and why sometimes everything works as it should and then other times I run into situations like this. Thanks in advance. 6. Oh man thank you so much! That was seriously driving me crazy. Surprised more people don't come across that as an issue because I couldn't find a similar post about it online. Anyways, thanks for the help. Cheers!
  7. I'm in the process of weight painting a character and the weight tool isn't behaving as expected. Basically I can add to the mesh, but I can't subtract from the mesh. I've attached a video showing the problem which I'm hoping is just myself missing something completely obvious. Thanks in advance and I'm happy to supply info more info! Link to video, and I've attached the project file: WoW-Character-Rig_0006.c4d.zip
