Happy - You are exactly right, and what you have forced me to realize is that C4D's Pyro simply isn't advanced enough to do things like consider the air surrounding an object and how a moving object affects the air as it moves through it, thus affecting the smoke. In the end, this is a limitation of the C4D Pyro system and if I want to do the more advanced stuff, like accurately affect a cloud of smoke with a moving object, I need to either find a way to fake it, or use a more advanced tool, like Houdini, X-Particles, or FD Turbulence.
I suspected as much, but thank you for helping me see the forest through the trees.
