  1. In project settings I tried upping the substeps, iterations, damping, scene scale, velocity clamp on. I just cant get anything useable. I have no idea what to try next. The object suspended is being dragged or stopped from moving somehow. When I try to move the cube in order to swing the object it tears free of the rope. Do i need to go back to Bullet engine. This should be so simple with the new simulation tools but they are worse than the old. Super quick to setup but useless for anything practical. I'm sick of the dynamics in C4d its always been as janky as fuck. but now... Anybody know what is going on here? Is there anybody there even? I have had one answer in almost a week of posting. I'm also having trouble keeping the rope straight when i move the cube. I need it to look like it has some weight. I added 10 to the mass of the object. Added mass to the rope. Dropped the number of points on the spline. I have messed with the ropes bendiness. Whatever i do i cant get the cylinder to look like it is exerting any weight on the rope unless it is still.
  2. Ok I have it. The rope is connected at both ends. I'm not sure why but swapping from an editable cube to a platonic got it working. This confuses me as the mesh I used in the Mesh Deformer is editable. Anyway I am playing with the rope setting and cannot get good results. For some reason my object is pulling the rope along x and z axis instead of settling beneath the point it is fixed from. Anybody know good settings for this or know why the object being suspended is dragging the rope?
  3. Ok so I have tried using a cube as a controller but I cannot get the spline to attach to the cube. I placed the Connector on the cube but it doesn't find the top of the spline. The connector tag on the spline is working correctly as i get a yellow link between the spline and cylinder. I tried adding a collider tag to the cube to keep it still then found the 'with pins' check in the cloth tag. Now the cube is staying put but cannot connect it to the rope. Is there a setting in the rope tag for this? Can anybody help me out?
  4. I have been trying t animate the top of the rope moving in order to drag the rope and attached object but I cant get it to move. I tried putting the rig in a null and moving the null which didn't work. I also tried animating the top point of the spline but that didn't work either. Can anybody help me out here or point me to a good tutorial? I have seen a few tuts on you tube but nothing with the rope being swung. i tried connecting a cube to the top of the spline , ticking other objects in the connector tag. I cant get the cube to connect to the top of the rope. The yellow guide in the viewport only appears at the bottom of the spline.
  5. I need to get this thing swinging. Can anybody tell me how to fix the top of the rope to an object in order to simulate a crane swinging around? I cant seem to get it to work.
  6. Hi guys I have it affecting the object via the Mesh Deformer. It seems to be dragging in the Z and X axis, some fine tuning needed.
  7. Hi there thanks for the reply. I just tried it with a cube and it doesn't work for me. I have tested this before and it was working with a simple cube. I will do it again and see and get back. Edit: Ok, I have it working with just a cube. Is there a way of fixing the top of the rope to a point on an object so when i move the geometry the rope and weight will move with it?
  8. Hi guys I have a spline with a rope simulation tag. I have the rope simulating nicely with Turbulance set to force. so i can see something happening. i am trying to connect it to a cylinder which is acting as a mesh deformer for another cylindrical object. I have put a cloth tag on the cylinder. I put a connect tag on the spline I'm using as a rope. With the bottom point of my spline selected and radius at default. Other object is ticked. I click create but nothing is happening. I should see a yellow line drawn between spline and nearest point on the cylinder. I think. Right now my the cylinder with cloth tag just falls away under gravity. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can anybody help?
  9. Ok so it wasn't antialiasing like i thought. I had too much Glossiness on my label material. Added some motion blur. I will most likely take another still image for the final shot.Without people in the shot and I changed my mind about the advertising billboard. Ok next is Rope simulation.
  10. So i abandoned baking the texture. I am going to animate using the Camera Calibration tag and use a still image for the animation. I am rendering in corona. There is a white line under the hanging object in the scene. Any wise member know how to fix that?
  11. I been looking around the net and it seems Corona doesn't support baked textures in cinema 4d. That is a bit disappointing. The render was looking so much better than physical. I just read I can do it in Arnold instead. I will use Arnold then. Anybody know how to do this or point me to a resource? Cant seem to find much in a web search.
  12. Hi guys, i Have solved some footage using the Motion Tracker. I need to bake a texture to some objects in order to occlude objects in the distance (crane behind billboard) I did it using a standard C4d material and using C4d's Bake Texture tag and its almost ready to render in physical. I would like to know if there is a workflow for the Bake Texture tag in C4d so I can use Corona renderer rather than Physical. Because Corona renders always look great. I have moved on from Physical and really don't want to have to use it again. Thanks in advance Keith
  13. Hi there, i followed you instructions. I'm not getting reflections on my object from the HDR on the Corona Sky. Some glitch maybe. Now its working.. Thanks EALEXANDER
  14. I cant get the shadow catcher to work with a infinite floor and a HDRI plugged into the Corona sky. I tried it with a Physical material with HDRI in the texture. I also tried it with a Light Material and HDRI. I cant get it to render without the HDRI image showing because Im not hiding my shadow catcher this time.. It only seems to work properly if I use a light or physical texture without HDRI. Then I lose lots of beautiful reflections. Anybody know what is going on
  15. Corona Compositing tag.That did it. I have a Light Material assigned to a Corona Sky object with refractions turned off Under the Advanced tab. Shadow Catcher material on a studio background Alpha mode to Compositing. I put the Corona Compositing tag on the shadow catcher geometry and turned off seen by Refraction. Like you said to. Works like a charm. Thank you EALEXANDER.
  16. Switching to Always Black alpha gives me this. Great but no shadows. I should have mentioned that i am trying to catch shadows so I can drop my render onto a plain white background. The red arrow show where the floor is seen through the bottle..
  17. Hi guys, I am rendering product shots in a plain studio style using the Shadow catcher on a plane. Is it possible to make the floor pure white? I need to catch shadows and have the studio be plain white so that the images sit inside a white webpage without hard edges of grey on the images. I could really do with a gradient that catches the shadows around the objects then fades to pure white around the edges of the image. Any help is most appreciated. Also can anybody recommend a studio like GSG's HDRI studio or Light Kit that works in Corona? If such a thing exists. Edit. this is the closest I get. The floor shadow catcher can be seen through the bottle.
  18. 😂 I keep getting more rolls to render. I stopped using Physical and started using Corona. Its so fast and beautiful renders. I'm loving it. I will try those solutions out thanks guys.
  19. I thought the decal would be applied in the Viewport. I see it is rendered ok. Problem solved. I'm thick. Thanks DAVETWO.
  20. Ok thanks for the reply. Regarding Decal. I couldn't get it to project onto the can. I was following a tutorial and still couldn't get it to work. I applied a png with an alpha to a Physical material. Applied that to the Decal object and as far as i can tell it should be projecting onto the object within the bounding box. As to the alpha, I couldn't get the texture to fit to a polygon selection and show transparency around the graphic. I put a black and white mask in the Opacity field and I got the texture as I wanted it. Its an extra step to the way I have always done it in C4d materials So i got that working. Is that more clear?
  21. I don't know how but i have totally screwed up the axis on my model and I cant get it back to how it was no matter what. This is real newb question. How do i get my axis to the centre of my model so that I can turn and position my model without it going in every direction around the axis. I cannot reset its HPB without also turning the model. When I click the Enable Axis tool it still turns the model. I can manually turn the axis when I have Enable Axis Mod turned on but I don't want to guess it. I don't understand how i have done this. I'm trying to get these points back into a same position on the x so the end of my model is straight. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  22. I put the PNG into the Base layer Texture slot and I needed to create a mask for the transparency in my png and put this in the Opacity texture slot in Corona Physical Material. Working now, I still cant figure out Decal.
  23. Hi guys./ I am having a problem with Corona decal object. I add a material to the Decal object and choose fit to bitmap. Decal wont project the image onto my object. So i gave up on Decal because i don't have time to F about. I tried making a selection to my object and applying the material but Corona wont render with the Alpha. Anybody know what i am doing wrong. I just want to stick a image with a transparent background on a can. I put the PNG into the Base layer Texture slot. I also tried it in the Opacity Channel. Any help is most appreciated.
  24. That works great. Using the clearcoat layer has made the difference. Looks really good. Thanks I am happy. My nights work is finished already.
