  1. Hey all, I'm making an animation of a windmill (an animation of a windmill reveal) and I want to use a controller slider to control the complete animation (I need multiple windmills and don't want to animate every single part). I have connected different range mappers to the controller and the pose morphs of the different animation together and this works great but I'm stuck on the next step. This is to control the timing of the different parts of the windmill. I want to have control over the timing of every part (for instance, I want the base of the windmill to appear first and then the next part and so on). Is it possible to do this inside Xpresso so I could retain a single controller slider for the complete animation? I'm totally new at Xpresso (well C4D in general for that matter) so I was wondering if somebody could help me. I have included the file of the windmill in this post. Thanx in advance!!! 2. Hey Bezo, Thanks for your time and help. This was not exactly what I was looking for but this might even be better!!! Now I can even control the amount of cylinders which could be helpful. And with your help I realized that I could just put the cylinders inside the same cloner as the cubes (and yes, I'm just starting with C4D;-). Thanks again for your help!! Dennis
  3. Hey Everybody, I have a question. I've made a simple cloner object that consists of a grid made out of cubes and animated that cloner with a spherical random field. Now I want to attach some cylinders (each cylinder must be in a null object, to change them later) to the top of some cubes (in the middle of each top-facing normal). Is there a way to do this with the null-objects maintaining the motion of the animated random field (so they will stay on top of the animated cubes)? I hope that you understand what I'm looking for. Attached is the file with the animation and 1 null object. Currently the cylinder stays in place but I want the cylinder to move with the cubes. Thanks in advance!! Dennis Wind farm animation01.c4d
  4. Hey Deck, Just saw your last reply. Could be a symmetry problem but if pathtracing is doing his trick, then it's ok but I'll check it out for future projects. Maybe the texture tag solution is something helpful, will definitely look into that. Thanx!!
  5. Hey Deck, You're right, the text isn't a shadow but the texture is mapped on both sides. I couldn't see it because it's mapped on the inside of the bottle and there were no lights there. And for the reflection, if I use a different option inside octane (pathtracing instead of directlighting) it solved the black reflection problem. I'm pretty new to c4D and especially octane but pretty happy to solve these issues. Thanx for you help!!
  6. Hey Deck, Thanx for your reply, I'll check the reflection and ray depth settings in octane. I've set the reflection depth pretty high so I don't think that will fix the issue but I'll look deeper into the render settings. I've also send the scene for you. Un Jardin_visual02.c4d
  7. Dear community, Not sure if this is the right please for my question but here we go: I'm making a render in C4D and Octane of some perfume bottles but I'm having a couple of issues. The first thing, I've put a mix texture on the bottle for the color gradient of the bottle and the logo textures. But the logo textures are casting shadows on the other side of the bottle (which I don't want), is there a way to illuminate those shadows? The second question is for the black reflection/refraction of the third bottle (yellow color) inside the second bottle (green bottle). Is this a normal behavior for reflections of glass inside another glass or is there a way to make this a better, more beautiful reflection and get rid of those ugly black spots? Thanx!!
  8. Sorry for the late reply, was busy with other projects. But here's the file in question. If there're any questions, just let me know!! Dennis Shark attack Boat.c4d
  9. This is my first post and I'm new to C4D, so I'm not sure if this is the right place. But I have a problem with an animation. I've made a boat floating on a ocean (a plane with displacer modifier, animated with noise). The boat itself is made of different objects in a null. I've used a couple of constrain-nulls on the ocean (null objects with clamp constrain) and the boat-null has a spring constrain, the others nulls are attached to this spring constrain (so the boat has a nice smooth floating animation. The problem that I have is when I watch the animation in the viewport, everything looks fine but when I send it to the picture viewer, the boat drifts of screen after the first frames (see images) . Something weird is happening with the position of the boat (or null, I don't know). Also every time I go back to frame 1 in the viewport the boat is jumping all over the place. Has anyone have an idea, because I have tried a lot of different options and can't seems to find a solution for this.
