  1. Is there a way to only render a selected object ID beauty pass....ie not the whole scene. ie Just a group or single object? Vray as a good implementation of this in 3ds max (you can create a render mask by either 'render selected, object id, or material ID....not sure if Arnold has equivalent in C4d?
  2. The only workaround I can think of is to create a standard material override and change my renderer to 'viewport' and do a 'full render' in the 'make preview' settings....this at least gives me a greyscale version. Will have to do for now! I come from 3ds max land, and that seems to have no issues exporting playblasts no matter what render engine you are using....I chose c4d as an experiment on a project and now regretting this decision!! There's definitely some great strengths....but this is a deal breaker! Maybe time to try redshift, not sure if its materials can translate to a preview export?
  3. Just for anyone interested chaos group replied to me...its a bug and doesn't work currently... 😞 Nightmare
  4. Hi, I am trying to do a play blast (ie make preview, viewport render..) with a V-ray 5 scene....all the materials render black. See my screenshots for what viewport looks like vs what the preview comes out as. Only the character with no materials shows. . Any ideas how to workaround this? I assume because the viewport render setting is overriding Vray. any help appreciated!
  5. Hi I have a character rig, and have been trying to rig some eyebrows to stick to my deforming mesh (facial expressions with pose morphs, and regular joint rig for body movements) My strategy was to constrain nulls to my body geo with xpresso point nodes, the using the tracer object to connect them and then a sweep to create some eyebrows. This does what I want it to, constrains the nulls to the deforming geo nicely (no lag) ...BUT the lag on the sweep / tracer is significant . I have tried shift priority tag, increasing my xpresso priority, changing to generators etc...but to no avail. The nulls seem to follow along without lag, its the tracer / sweep that seem to lag. See attached file for a simple animation and pose change. If anyone has a better way of sticking eyebrows then happy to try, or any advice on this would be appreciated. (I also tried a surface deformer, but this lag was worse seemingly, and slower) Thanks! Rig_Rosita_Vray_Final_012.zip
