Thanks! That was a fun project.
  3. I thought the tutorial worked fine, but wow, what a cool way of modeling. My way around it is every time I make a decision I might want to change, is to save a copy, how nice to be able to just go back and make adjustments like that. I imagine Houdini overall would probably explode my brain though.
  4. oh yeah, I can see how that would be a challenge. Did you end up treating it like an extra arm as far as the rig goes? there always has to be curveballs, haha.
  5. oh how awesome! nice character animation and cool designs!

    Past Renders

Most of these are really old, some of them back to R8. They're kind of all over the place. Most of them were for potential film projects.

    these look great!
  12. Thanks! Finally dialing things in and it’s working.
  13. So I was trying to find a way to animate the eyelids opening and closing and the eye going in and out. Also, having the lids angle adjust first so it looks like it sliding into a slot and not through metal. I ended up using pose morph, which worked pretty well. I wanted i part to happen first then the others and I couldn't figure out how to make a single move like that so I made 2, and dragged the sliders out over the viewport for easy animtion, and it works great! took some trial and error, but finally got there. the BG video was free from pexels.com.
  14. Yeah definitely very reflective in that one, was experimenting with it getting splotchy wet floating over a wet street. Sometimes I do too many different experiments at the same time. But even then, it’s still a bit much. Also, since it didn’t immediately come across as being wet, that means it needs more work, lol. Yesss I need to add some dirt, good idea.
  15. Adding some details to the ship. I want it to look like It was shot down, and potentially patched up by a few kids with welding skills. I tried to make a weld around the detour sign. Couldn’t get it to look like a row of dimes laid down, but then I was thinking if a kid was doing it it wouldn’t be a perfect world anyway, lol.
  16. You are right!!!! It is! I really wanted to use turbulence FD, which I bought a copy years ago how do used for a short film, that plug-in is amazing although complicated, but I cannot find proof that I bought it or the plug-in itself. That sucker was expensive! I need to dig deeper because I know it’s supposed to work with Arnold. Good call. Haven’t tried XP though, maybe I’ll look into that. Ohhh yes, exactly. I’ve also been toying with the idea of the eyes being able to retract and metal plates slide in, almost like squeezing those shut. Haven’t decided the flowers and ability or not, could become a story point. But yeah right now, it doesn’t make sense. Sorry for the delay, for some reason I didn’t even notice the comments until today!?!?
  17. Ohhh you are totally right, I couldn’t find the right sound effect at the time, and I just wanted something fast because I was excited, but yesss, excellent point. I need to change that. and yes, camera shake also great call. Thanks! Not sure how I missed these comments!?!?! I thought I was being diligent. Haha.
  18. Love the material on that sucker. It almost has like a Pearlessence feel. Looking great!
