Hi. I went through the tutorial "Cinema 4D Nonlinear Animation" on YouTube by C4D user Rectro (Dan) that I found on this site. It was very helpful, and I learned a lot. But one thing I've not been able to figure out is how to now convert retargeted animations into motion clips.
I have two models rigged in Mixamo with the same skeleton hierarchy. I want to make lots of different animations with Model A and then transfer all of those animations to Model B instead of making all of them from scratch again for Model B. So far I've been able to retarget the animations from model A to model B, but when I add a motion clip to model B's skeleton the resulting motion clip only contains the original skeleton which is just a 1 frame T-Pose. It doesn't result in a motion clip with the animation retargeted from Model A.
How can I make a motion clip out of the retargeted animation? My goal is to make a bunch of animations with just Model A that I can use for both Model A and Model B and then turn them into motion clips that I can use when animating. My plan is to use these animations for both models and to change them back and forth between motion clips and keyframed animations as needed.
To try my method I've downloaded several mixamo animations using Model A. I am retargeting those animations to Model B, which works fine, but I now want to convert those retargeted animations using Model B into motion clips. I'm using Mixamo animations at the moment, but as soon as I get this method working I will then start creating my own original animations to retarget between my models. Any advice as to how to do so would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure Rectro knows the solution to this, so hopefully he or someone who understands what I'm trying to accomplish can chime in.
