    Larsen's learning sandbox

Some renders I've made while learning that fantastic piece of software that C4D is.
  2. Thank you both, guys ! It definitely does look like a welcoming community.
  3. You're so kind ! Thank you so much.
  4. I'm starting to pick up on why people here use older versions.
  5. You're all so welcoming! Thank you. As for my music, you can find a single on my Spotify page (That pretty recent, as it's my main project.) but you can find more unofficial stuff on my Soundcloud. (Mostly orchestral stuff and genre experiments). I have tracks to release but wayyy too busy with learning 3D right now ahah ! It really is a fascinating medium.
  6. Ok, so I've got a answer from Maxon's support. Apparently it's just not possible. They did not mention anything about importing as polygon object, so I guess I'll have to go back and forth through C4D and Houdini. That sucks.
  7. I might send a ticket to Maxon to find out what's going on. If anyone has a workaround or got it working on R25, please post here! 🙂 Thanks.
  8. I tried that, as I remember that it once worked in a previous version of C4D. Doesn't in R25, for some reason. Thanks though, that's a really strange issue.
  9. Hey guys! I'm Ryan, a multidisciplinary artist from Belgium. I recently started learning 3D, using mainly Cinema4D and Houdini. I also make a lot of music and sound design, the goal would be to merge all of that good stuff together to create more interesting projects. Thanks for reading and have a great day. 🙂 Ryan
  10. Hey there ! I hope I'm in the good forum for this. I've been working on a project including a lot of particles lately, all of them being simulated in Houdini. It's pretty simple tho. It's, for the most part, point clouds. The position of those clouds aren't that important, as they're supposed to be in the background, so I have to be able to move them quite freely. The problem is that when I import an alembic as particle geometry, I can't move them or change their coordinates. I do not want to move a single particle one by one or anything, just the cloud. I've searched everywhere, I couldn't find any satisfying answer. I feel like documentation on thinking particles is pretty limited as well. Would there be any solution to this ? Here is one of the .abc files containing a single cloud. Thanks !
